What seed will Griz be if they win out?

I like all the hypotheticals and info. I am trying to plan the rest of 2024 and early 2025. We leave for AZ in a week for the winter. Should I leave a car in Missoula or get it to Bozeman/Big Sky now and take to Bozeman later in the fall? Should I book hotel rooms in Missoula now, assuming our condo gets rented for the winter? How should I plan Thanksgiving with the family, i.e. where? Can I depart on our big International trip early in January? Decisions, decisions, decisions. Last year, I had to fly on the 6am flight from Phoenix to Missoula 3 weeks in a row for the playoff games. That was expensive, but worth it. Thx.
One thing I would not plan on is going to the NATTY. That's a given ! Got tickets you can sell them on my thread.

I agree that Davis has a chance to beat the Cats but if/when they don't it certainly doesn't bode well for the people who think the Griz are going to win-out. And as long as Chachere shows up healthy Portland State has a chance to beat anyone in the BSC.

I suspect Davis will beat the cats. MSU isn’t the same team on the road as they are at home.

I mean this is likely true, as is the case with pretty much every team in the country. And we're really good at home, so I'd expect we wouldn't be as good away from that environment. But I guess I just haven't thought we looked all that bad on the road either.

Davis appears to be playing better than earlier in the season. They're well coached and finding ways to win. And it's sports so obviously anything can happen. I still like the Cats by about 14 or so when all is said and done.

I agree your cats have looked very good this year. As well as everyone is better at home. Though to my eye these cats are half the team on the road compared to at home.

Won’t be shocked if they win this weekend, just don’t believe they will. Looking forward to the game. Should be a good one.

November 23rd is going to be a great day if that the one game the Griz decide to put it all together this year. :)

It is somewhat baffling how inconsistent the Griz are this year... coaches included

Cats are 7.5 favorites at UCD Saturday. We shall see.

This year’s Griz are a pretty good team but highly inconsistent. The guys need two wins to be in the five or six slot. They need one win for any playoff game.

Though as stated elsewhere, much depends on how the other top ten teams finish. That includes the cats. If they lose at Davis, Griz beating them next week helps us less than beating #2 bobcats. Either way we won’t jump them in the seeding (even losing, at 10-2 msu with an FBS New Mexico win > than a 9-3 Montana).

That said, at the moment 9-3 is rather optimistic.
Odds are the cats win in Bozeman this year. Their OLine is bulldozing everybody. On the other hand our is not. We have great RBs but they need some sort of hole. On the flip side, if we account for Tommy’s running I like our chances of cutting their running game in half. Yet it won’t help if our offense can’t move the ball
Go Griz
Tommy doesn't run much this year - not yet at least.

This change by the Cat coaches has been good, probably necessary, and has been successful. Has preserved Mellott. His passing seems to have improved. Not throwing picks. Another improvement. Plus, he still has the same ability to run and to run fast and far, so he is still dangerous and effective. And, as you say, "not yet". I assume, in a pinch, the O play-calling could shift to running him more. All positive, or very positive for the Cats. We'll see how they do against Davis. I was impressed with Davis. Much better than I had expected. The Griz had their chances, but made too many mistakes and didn't execute well enough. While Fife was good in his first several series, the third one I believe ended in a forced throw and pick in the end zone and not a needed TD; this was the first game since early in the season where I thought the QB's hadn't been good. Fife's 3d drive (I think) and pick came after Ah Yat had come in for a couple of unsuccessful series. The Griz have talent and no big holes, and are in position to play much better. It remains to be seen whether they will. It's getting later in November. Usually, in the good years, the team is rolling by now.

I give the Griz a 3% chance of beating the Cats, so what seed will they be then?
With a win this weekend against PSU and a loss to the Cats I think the Griz will be a #12 seed and a home playoff game (win) before hitting the road the rest of the way. With 2 wins I think the Griz will be a 5 seed, perhaps 6.

Im leaning towards won’t unfortunately. We haven’t even been close.
I keep waiting for the mistakes to decrease substantially like previous years, but they haven’t to this point, and it’s pretty late in the season.

As always I hope they have their best game against the cats and will root for such, but hard to see us playing a perfect game.

We could come out and score two opening drive TDs against the cats and coaches would decide to pull that QB and throw a momentum curveball to the whole team.

BSC rankings for the MSU-Bozeman team:
#1 scoring offense
#1 scoring defense
#1 total offense
#1 total defense
#1 rushing offense
#2 rushing defense
#1 passing defense
#1 offensive efficiency
#1 defensive efficiency

after this weekend they very well could be #1 in rushing defense too. Griz probably have them right where we want them :)

IF and that is huge IF they win out, possible to sneak into the top 8. I don't think with the staff we have we can win out. We need to first hope to beat PSU who could very easily sneak up on us. I would LOVE to beat the kittens but at this point just hoping to keep it under 50.

We know the NCAA wants a game here for the $$ but even 1-1 we should have to go on the road for playoffs, 4 FCS losses doesn't deserve any special treatment.
