I don't mind cutting him a lot of slack because he's the "old coach" color guy - he's supposed to be eccentric. But Jay is supposed to be the "professional' and he doesn't know what he's talking about, consistently gets players names wrong, and seems to understand very little of the actual rules of the game. Marty is consistently correcting him! I've said it before and I'll say it again - Marty would be fine with a quality professional play by play guy.
By what objective metric is Marty excellent?
His football knowledge isn’t great, his pace of speech is bad and his over the top delivery is the cherry on top. He’s objectively bad at most of the metrics one would judge a public speaker on.
Bob wasn’t good either, this was never about that. Frankly, I’d rather have Scott Guernsey on color, but I’m guessing that ship has sailed.

His football knowledge isn’t great??? You do realize he coached in the NFL for 27 years including many years as an offensive coordinator and even a stint as a head coach. He’s one of the most knowledgeable guy’s in the country doing this. You told me all I need to know about you. You would rather have a dumb guy talking so you can understand him.
