take it easy on me, this is my first thread and I have only posted twice on this forum.
I have watched and cheered for Griz football for over 20 years. To me the griz identity has always been a strong fundamental defense with great tackling and pressure, good special teams, and a brutalizing ground game. that is a formula for winning a lot of football games. I love the griz offense this year, its more modernized and have the ability to put up big numbers. I am not sure all of that is complimentary when you have a young defense that is still getting used to the speed of this level of football, and a new coordinator. I think the defense has the potential to be really good, but they could benefit from the offense using up more clock to prevent opposing offenses from running a high number of plays. I am not sure if the Griz are capable of running the ball and controlling the clock? I know they can put up points and yards in a hurry. I am not pointing any blame on any particular position group or any player, but rather asking if our strength and conditioning program is as good as it was during the early to mid 2000's? In my view I believe the most important coach to any successful football program starts with the strength and conditioning coach/coordinator. I believe that is where teams create identity, toughness, and trust. I am just not seeing that nasty, mean, I'm going to put you in the dirt all game long type of unit like in the past. I could be way off, just my thoughts.
Thanks for having me,
Go Griz
