I'll speak for myself here, but my complaints on ticket prices hasn't been because its high, its because its high for the level of competition were facing. I would rather pay $70 to watch the griz play wyoming than $50 to watch them play Northern Colorado.
UM is $81/semester. NAU just has 3x the enrollment.
They certainly don’t. If 10 teams pay the $5 million dollar fee and establish their own entity, I’m pretty they can be told to go pound sand though.

Correct, as I note above. At worst, the real cost would be the difference in those rent prices. Which also suggests a kid from NYC would have a negative housing cost.

I don't think Sac is long for the Big Sky based on this news. There is some real community buy-in being reported down there to get Sac into the FBS. While I don't mind the conference contracting a bit to get back to a round robin in football, I wish Sac was one of the teams who would stick around. They committed to the Big Sky when their neighbors in CA at this level did not.
It's not community buy-in, though. It's the rich of Sacramento sensing that this could make them more money, so they're "promising" to throw seed money at it. Also, the idea of "$35M in NIL" makes no sense. That's larger than pretty much every Power 4 team in the country, and does not mean at all that the money will even be delivered if they move up.

Yes. It's quite accurate in economic theory to consider the opportunity cost of foregoing a job to get an education. Of course, since studies show that those with college degrees make on average of $1.2 million more than those without degrees over the course of their lifetimes, it could also be argued college is free.

Well there is still a cost and somebody is making money, so not exactly free. In the end the degree does usually pay for itself and then some if you choose wisely. It is a net positive for many. However, it can also be a net negative for many who max out loans with lower income potential degrees or poor job prospects in their chosen field. As always the economy can flip on a dime and the rich can become poor and vice versa very rapidly in our economy.
