It happenin

Could be. Lord knows we see people complaining about ticket prices all the time. We can't exactly expect to produce the product so many people demand if we charge prices from a quarter century ago.
I'll speak for myself here, but my complaints on ticket prices hasn't been because its high, its because its high for the level of competition were facing. I would rather pay $70 to watch the griz play wyoming than $50 to watch them play Northern Colorado.

A new FBS conference will never get approval. Current FBS schools don't want to divvy up the money pile further.
They certainly don’t. If 10 teams pay the $5 million dollar fee and establish their own entity, I’m pretty they can be told to go pound sand though.

Oh I get it. College educations are far too expensive. But that doesn't change the fact that rent and food shouldn't be included in the stated costs.
Except for the fact that you have to pay rent prices in Missoula or Bozeman instead of Dillon or Sidney without having a job.

Correct, as I note above. At worst, the real cost would be the difference in those rent prices. Which also suggests a kid from NYC would have a negative housing cost.

The non-job argument makes no more economic sense than including in airfare the lost wages one incurs from taking a week off to go on vacation

Don't most companies have vacation pay. I never took a vacation and didn't get paid.

How many kids attending UM live at home, would you guess? I sure don't know many, and I live in Missoula.

Attending school on a full-time basis means that you can't work full time, or even a larger amount of part-time and most kids don't work at all while attending school. I assume you would support adding lost wages to the cost of college education, based on what you are saying so far? Because, if a college age kid was not going to college, don't you think they would be working and earning money?

I don't think Sac is long for the Big Sky based on this news. There is some real community buy-in being reported down there to get Sac into the FBS. While I don't mind the conference contracting a bit to get back to a round robin in football, I wish Sac was one of the teams who would stick around. They committed to the Big Sky when their neighbors in CA at this level did not.

It's not community buy-in, though. It's the rich of Sacramento sensing that this could make them more money, so they're "promising" to throw seed money at it. Also, the idea of "$35M in NIL" makes no sense. That's larger than pretty much every Power 4 team in the country, and does not mean at all that the money will even be delivered if they move up.

Sacramento has until this point shown 0 interest in the Hornets, and the Pac-12 or MWC would be incredibly stupid to think it's going to suddenly materialize overnight (which they very well might be).

Yes. It's quite accurate in economic theory to consider the opportunity cost of foregoing a job to get an education. Of course, since studies show that those with college degrees make on average of $1.2 million more than those without degrees over the course of their lifetimes, it could also be argued college is free.

Well there is still a cost and somebody is making money, so not exactly free. In the end the degree does usually pay for itself and then some if you choose wisely. It is a net positive for many. However, it can also be a net negative for many who max out loans with lower income potential degrees or poor job prospects in their chosen field. As always the economy can flip on a dime and the rich can become poor and vice versa very rapidly in our economy.

They break ground the week after the season ends. Which for us this year is probably after game 12.

Kadeezy I have 2 questions for you on the stadium:

1. Where is it going? Is it on campus? And if so, where?

2. Where is the money coming from to build this so quickly? Looks like a several hundred million dollar project. Are they using institutional funds?
