Literally only old farts like yourself who are friends with Marty believe this. I have no doubt Marty is a blast to hangout with. But he is absolutely horrible as a color commentator.

Jay isn’t the finest football announcer but he is a really good man. Marty isn’t the finest football announcer but he does know football inside and out.
As to the “finest football announcers” they aren’t going to be found calling Montana, Big Sky, or any FCS games they are working for the national networks. I don’t know why they’re not here instead, but they just aren’t.

His name is Jay Kohn, not Cohen, he is a 1976 honors graduate of UM, he was the Montana Broadcaster of the year in 2005 and our longtime 5:30 and 10 PM anchor @ KTVQ from 1998-2018 here in Billings and came to Billings from running the MTN station KXLF TV in Butte, which he ran for many years with his good friend, sportscaster, sports historian and MSU Bobcat extraordinaire the late Pat Kearney, author of " The Divide War, " about the history of The Brawl of The Wild, he does know the difference between a touchback and a touchdown, and most people in Billings and Butte--including me--love Jay and his work as our hard-news anchor @ KTVQ.
While Jay is not perfect and gets tongue tied occasionally calling a touchdown a touch back, I know that if we were in that booth with Marty, we would be 100 % accurate and make 0 mistakes--the job is harder than it looks and Jay is getting better and better !!! ( Please remember, Bobby Hauck walks on water today in GRIZ nation according to most posters on e griz, while a year ago at this time, many if not most of those same posters were calling for his scalp !!! We are kind of fickle !!! )
And cheering on Jay from heaven is not only his good friend and colleague in Butte the late Pat Kearney, who died unexpectedly from an arterial blockage at 59 in 2014, but also Jay and his wife Judy's daughter, Melanie Connole, who was also a UM J school grad, worked for MTN in Missoula, Butte and finally Billings and was her dad's boss as newscast director @ Q-2, and tragically died of cancer in Oct. of 2021.
And if you're still not happy please remember how much you are personally paying Jay: $ 0.

Few care who you or I vote for. There's a political board to discuss it for those rare people who do, however. Perhaps you're not bright enough to understand this.

There is far more than enough bickering on this board. And there is more than enough bickering about politics around me in the rest of my life. There is absolutely fucking nobody who wants you to start turning this board political or separating people out based on who "their" candidate is. If you can't have one aspect of your life separate from politics, you have become obsessed with it.
THIS. I am sure that many posters on this board hold polar opposite political opinions from others, yet we don't need to know about them in order to agree about our favorite team. Here we're all just Griz fans, and let's keep it that way.

FWIW I am young and think Marty is awesome and great commentator. At least hes not a generic robot like 98% of announcers that cant say anything other than "physicality", "arm talent" and "tempo" in every comment. I will take tits and trickeration any day of the week over that garbage.
