Roughing the passer can come for a variety of reasons. One of them, is hitting the QB late. A late hit.

But Wilson's was not from hitting the QB late. That's what we were talking about. My goodness, why are you so imprecise?

Hoops is right, Wilson call was for roughing and it was a bad call. The refs sucked in this game and really screwed the Cats on more than one occasion.

QBs are way to protected, makes games less fun to play in and watch on tv.

This is ridiculous, a late hit is not the "same" as roughing the passer. Please people stop just throwing out crap that isn't true and saying it's truth. If you don't know then look it up. We live in the age of information and you can find it out for yourself. If you still don't believe when a user posts it then go and look it up for yourself . And for those who think we were roughing the passer and hitting him late, go and rewatch the N. Dakota game and watch how many times they late hit Ah Yat and nothing was called.

I understand that. He got the penalty for driving him into the ground. They’re all taught that when the ball is out, you let off. He continued for several yards and drove the QB into the ground, injuring the QB. Driving the QB into the ground is what got the penalty.

Objectively, if that same play happened to Ah Yat, a lot of people here would call it dirty. Wilson’s head was up the entire time, like it should be, he saw the ball get out of the QB’s hand. It was a stupid play.

I am of the J.D. school of thought on this, sometimes it's needed.

Encroachment is the worst penalty - gets you a trip to HR real quick and usually comes with a full-game suspension.

And I was right on those things, except I said nothing on punting. I didn't say the Griz needed better players or better coaches. Better players is what most teams need. I didn't say they needed better short and medium passing or better kickers, punters or long snappers. I didn't say they needed better blocking or better lineman. I didn't say they needed better KO and punt coverage. I didn't say they needed better kick and punt returners. I didn't say the Griz needed more heart, more desire, more hustle, or harder hitting. The Griz just need to improve on some of things they are doing, and are completely capable of doing those things.

It looks like you don't know much about football, and you don't know what's important to successful teams, do you? Your basketball bench warming didn't get you any football knowledg.
