Let The Kid Show His Stuff

IMO, AY is ordained our starting Qb based upon comments on this site and podcasts on Griz FB.

I feel this kid hasn't been given a fair chance to succeed. I hope in the next few games my concern is put to rest.

Play the best Qb.

I'm not sure he's been "ordained" the starter by anyone on here or elsewhere for any reason other than that he looks like the best QB right now, and you can tell he has by far the highest ceiling of our QBs.

I for one am extremely excited to see the kind of QB he grows into over the rest of this season.

I can't tell that as I have not had a chance to see the others play.....not saying he doesn't but not much actual evidence so far.

I think the KAY kid is your future, as long as he doesn't leave the program. Let him fly this year and see how much he can grow. You'll have a great chance for a deep playoff run next year.

Agree with WaGriz and Kem above. Young AhYat has had 80%+ of the snaps. They seem to have him on the fast track to develop. They haven’t held him back

That said I’ve been pleased with him and Fife. Both have played well. Both have also shown some mistakes. Continue to promote AhYat’s growth, and utilize Fife to relieve him.

QBs are sound. The problems with the offense has had more to do with some dropped passes and failure to block. This team has potential but they’ve yet to live up to it

Since we are playing a Pioneer Conference team tomorrow--no scholarships--all three of our QB's probably play tomorrow, Fife, Ah Yat, and Huot plus a lot of our 2's and 3's !!! And the game is probably a blow out for the good guys !!!

I am going to the game tomorrow only because the Morehead State game worked in my Iowa friends' schedule--they flew in for the game. Otherwise, I would have picked a different game against a better Big Sky School.

I do hope that Fife gets the starting nod next game--Ah Yat is a fine young QB but he made some typical dumb Freshman mistakes during the second half last week, like hanging onto the ball for too long, and he's responsible for a big chunk--no, not all of it--of that second half debacle in Grand Forks !!!

Go GRIZ !!!

I wouldn't be shocked if Fife got the start tomorrow, even if I'd just keep playing KAY for the rest of the year.

UOFMMan, I hope you are right. I would like to see Fife in for a 1/2 and they AY and Huot for a 1/4 each.

I am assuming a dominate outing for the Griz.

If it were up to me, I'd play Ah Yat in every game until it gets out of hand, and then just do whatever. I think we need to be working on Keali'i's development over prioritizing the other guys. He flashes talent I don't think we've seen here in a while.
