Analysis of MSU v. UNM Game on Saturday

And fortunately for the Cats, they should have several game in a row here to continue to improve in the passing game and improve Tommy as a passer. Not a bad showing though for the first game of the year, against an FBS team, and first game in a modified system that reduces the QB run plays. 21 for 32, 205 yards, 2 passing TDs. The # of attempts and completions were both career highs for Tommy.

Why did you leave out the most important stat: two fumbles for TDs? Were those career highs too?
So misleading. Almost like you claiming you “won money” off the bubs but can’t even post a pic to prove it.

And 2 fumbles returned for TD's. Same as pick sixes.
In a weird way, I’d say almost worse. Picks and pick 6’s happen. Scoop and scores off a starting veteran QB… Twice in a game, and on opening possessions is not a good look. Tells me, we need to create consistency in the position, not build up to it throughout the game.

Because I was posting about his passing stats, and if he would have thrown any INTs I would have included them as well. Of course the fumbles were NOT GOOD. Thank God we dodged a bullet there. Yes, I admit when I'm wrong, I did not win "Money" on the game. My mistake and I'll own that. What I did win, as you know, was a bottle of whiskey... better than money! lol

I won enough to retire. Oh, I already am.

Are Cats thinking this comeback win is equivalent to almost beating SDSU early last year, or better? Do over 30 throws and only 2 TD’s by the D on those throws show the Cat passing game has improved?

Your star running back fumbled twice, both returned for TD's, that must be concerning.
Zero concern. His history has shown that was very uncharacteristic of Tommy. I'm confident he hasn't somehow turned into a turnover machine overnight. If he give Utah Tech two scoop and scores tomorrow night, then I might be concerned!

Way, way better because the Cats got the W..... despite your incorrect prediction. Yes the passing game has improved. Career high for Tommy with completions.

So are we all going to admit that I was correct?? Tommy isn’t running it much and the guy can pass the ball… still has work to do but that was one of the best air attacks I’ve ever seen from Tommy. Fumbles were mistakes that were compounded by misfortune. Cats showed they have the grit they didn’t last year. If we wanna talk real grit how about those Diggers.

Interestingly, saying "That is one of the best high jumps from Elrod" is fairly similar in terms of scope. 😂
Sorta but we tried to do that against Idaho and we saw how that went. Big game for the gris tomorrow night (yes I will be there). I think tomorrow will answer some serious questions and the gris better be ready for a real non conference schedule. Whilst banned I reflected on my life and the gris… I am hoping to see both UM and MSU undefeated until the brawl… maybe Gameday comes back and gris fans can have another brain aneurysm.

Everyone knows. Just be yourself and stop the schtick.

Cats’ game way below last year’s SDSU game. You show once again you don’t understand football. Too funny. If Mellott is to be passer and not runner this season, Cats are toast. I like Tommy. Obviously, Csts don’t have backup this year like last year. Keep
showing us your great football knowledge.

If we were throwing a bunch of deep balls and 50-50 balls like we did last year then yes we would be screwed. But as we last week that is so far from the case. We are throwing short quicker passes that allow us to get the 5-10 yard plays and in the long run will make the run game more explosive. That secondary is the best secondary the cats will play until maybe the gris and Tommy did just fine

3 sacks. 2 qb fumbles while passing, and for TD’s. As I said last year, Cats’ o-line not good at pass blocking. I understand short passing game to take pressure off Mellott run game injury risk, but looks like net negative to Cat offensive production.
