Hero Preseason Top 25

How could they possibly have tackled bad when they double rep everything? I mean all we’ve heard from cat fans is Vigen is so ingenious and the only coach to ever implement such a thing. Apparently they went through the reps so quickly they forgot to work on the basic fundamentals.

If you want to hear some laughable things you should listen to the cat player interviews heading into camp and from big sky media days. It’s literally all Bobby talking points that he preaches constantly. I literally heard one of them say “Iron sharpens Iron” and had to just laugh knowing the cat fans will take it on as a mantra and claim credit there too.
I never knew Bobby created the term “iron sharpens iron”! Learn new things every day on egris

Ok? Top 10 on a “very bad” season, I’ll take it
The Cats are welcome to 4 losses, an early playoff exit, a clobbering by the Griz, and top 10 poll anytime. Feel free to call that a great or very good or whatever season. By the way, I'm coming around on the Cats being better this coming season, than I thought initially (when I didn't know much about the Cats). I'm still skeptical and will wait to see how the Cats, and Griz, play earlier in the season, but some people who know more than I do tell they believe the Cats appear to have good potential.

The all-world o-line already fallling apart:

Vigen mentioned that guards JT Reed and Cole Sain have missed some of camp due to injury, but they should be back "in short order."
Vigen: "one-time starting guards JT Reedand Cole Sain continue to work their way back. "I think there's an assumption that we'll bring Cole and JT back and they're going to be able to play. They haven't practiced yet, and they will, but seeing how that unfolds is important."

Zach Crews has made a big step forward and is ahead of schedule.

9th is pretty shitty when you keep acting like you were the 2nd best team.
Are you going to talk about how Sean Anderson voted the cats as #1? He said cats had the #1 offense last season and return the key guys, Vigen is legit, Tommy is a top 5 FCS player. Blows my mind how you can finish #9, lose 4 guys to the FBS, and move up 5 spots in rankings… explain that

Pollsters who don't know much about football, like yourself?

I've been trying to understand this since all this preseason hype has started showing up.
I personally don't get it. Do I follow what goes on in Bozeman.... no.
But it makes zero sense to me, unless the voters believe the rest of the FCS has become so watered down that there's no one else in the top 4 conversation.
Did Villanova lose a bunch of guys from last years squad? I would have thought they'd slot into the 4 spot with the way they finished the season in Brookings.
South Dakota looked bad to end the year.
Idaho lost guys, but pretty sure their cupboards arent empty. The question is if they can play defense this year.
Sac should have a good year.

The rest of the top 25 is a mystery.

Why are you talking about this year? Last year and this year are two different teams, and I've been talking about last year's cat team the entire time.

If you want another dose of reality, you were picked 3rd in the preseason poll last year and dropped 6 spots over the year. I guess being picked 4th is potentially one less spot to drop this year lol.

I never said we didn’t have a weakness going into 23. We did play better than in 22, we just had a tougher schedule. We were 1-2 inches away from beating SDSU and you guys lost 23-3

And you lost to Idaho. We beat Idaho.
And you lost to NDSU. We beat NDSU.
You were 1-2 inches away from beating SDSU yet we blew you out of the water.

Take your weak ass transitive arguments somewhere else, and face the fact Vegan has the team headed in the wrong direction.

Who the fuck is Sean Anderson? I voted the Bubbies last in the FCS. Are you going to talk about that, too?

Is it the same Anderson that was a Griz OL player that a lot of fans had high hopes for, before he retired?
If so, I'm pretty sure his dad wasn't much of a Hauck fan.

To be fair Villanova played in super high winds that made it impossible to pass which took the Janke’s and the TE out of the game. Then nova just had to fill the box. I think it was 23-12 or 23-11 but I don’t think that game is a great representation of the teams. Also the winner of the MVFC and BSC will be 1 and 2 in playoff seeds so I think that bumps nova down (in my opinion). The reason the cats are ranked very high is because 3 out of the 4 losses could’ve gone either way which leaves voters understanding that the cats CAN win those games against SDSU and NDSU. Also only graduating 11 guys and only 4-5 guys got significant time means the cats didn’t lose much and replaced well in the portal. If cats defense is good I predict a 2 seed in playoffs as an FBS win and 4-5 top 25 wins would be very very good. I think the cats could even lose one tough game and still get a top 4 seed because the schedule is so tough.
