McDowell Says

Sorry, 'bama, just too many 'thrill of victory, and agony of defeat' moments as a Griz fan. The '95 NC was the thrill, and '96 Randy Moss loss was the agony for me. And, I was at work both games. Reality set in about that time.
At any rate, my lyin' eyes can deceive me when it comes to the SDSU game. Can't criticize what I haven't seen, right?
I’m sorry for the angry face but absence makes the heart grow fonder and it’s been 15 years since we were in a natty. I also was pretty certain we were gonna lose but I drove from Huntsville Alabama to Frisco Texas to watch my first national championship in person. My argument was I didn’t know for certain if or when I would get this opportunity again. In every game hope springs eternal and on any given Saturday any team can win. Upsets do happen. To hear you say you didn’t even watch on tv boggles my mind. I know it’s a ridiculous question cus we now know the outcome but what if. How would you feel if the Griz had won and you chose not to watch it.

Well, I would have shut the hell up, and I'd have never admitted to what I have. No one would ever know.
Kudos on your drive to Frisco, about 600 miles. Did a trip like that in my youth, a couple of times. Oof! Killed me then.

Since I moved to Alabama I swore a personal oath to myself that I would make it to every Griz game east of the Mississippi. Me and the wife have made the drives to Macomb Illinois, Terre Haute Indiana, Harrisonburg Va, Lynchburg Va, Boone NC, and Knoxville Tn. Frisco for a natty was a no brainer.

That is awesome!

How was the Terre Haute experience? I was really surprised they didn't have better facilities. I don't know why. I guess just Larry Bird made me think they were a bigger deal in Indiana.

It wasn’t bad but not much of a fan base. Nice town and they have a Taco John’s but I was pissed cus they were out of potato oles that day. Definitely better then Macomb when it was 120 in the sun on the aluminum bleachers. We only stayed one night though. Drove up the day before and left for home after the game was over about 3pm.

What the hell is a taco johns without oles?

A TJ runs out of Oles? That is unacceptable!

I miss Taco John's so much. People where I live say tacos like that aren't "real" tacos. I say call them whatever you want. Call them Frog Nuggets if you want, but sometimes I want me a six pack and a pound to which the Bell and the Del can't compare.

And none can compare to the El
