This article just confirms what I have been saying about the vast recruiting advantages that Montana has over every FCS program, and even some of the FBS programs. Facilities. Weight room. Game-day atmosphere. Dedicated national fan base. All of these allow the Grizzly coaches a huge recruiting advantage over other FCS programs. But, does this transfer to the field? It did for one magical season last year, but failed miserably in the four seasons prior.
If FCS teams like NDSU and SDSU can be dominant, there is absolutely no reason why Montana can not be as dominant, or even more dominant than they are. Which is EXACTLY why I rail on Bobby Hauck 2.0. If he can put 3-4 consecutive deep playoff runs together, I will grant him his due. But one great season out of five, and no apparent ability to solidify the most critical position on the team, the QB position, leaves many questions open for criticism.
