Montana at Pitt

Yeah Baby! So tired of Stitt--it, if we beat the cats will they get in, contract renew due, coulda , shoulda, bleph...this TEAM just does it! Yah Baby way to go griz! Better be in CBI top 25 next week!
 
Kriskovic played nearly the whole game with 3 fouls. Last year he'd have made it to half way in the second half and the year before, fouls would have made him sit for half a game...He and Oguine, really shone tonight...Who will step up Wednesday?

I thought I had jinxed em. I was at work watching the game tracker seeing the Griz were pretty much in the lead the whole time. I get home and turn on the iPad to watch and in 30 seconds Pitt takes the lead and looks like they're starting to take control. I almost turned it off to turn off the jinx. Thank Gid I didn't. Go Griz!
 
Even more encouraging, Akoh hasn't contributed much and is struggling. When he comes around, that will be a huge help for the GRIZ. FYI, if you want to see a great atmosphere, tune into the GCU (Grand Canyon University) game on ESPN3. The Lopes, are starting to build a solid program there.

In the spirit of the second string QB always being the best player because nobody has seen him play, with the heralded recruits everyone is crowing about - me included- our 5 returning players score 79 of 83 points, grab 37 of 39 rebounds, 14 of 15 assists, 6 of 7 steals, and only 14 of 23 fouls.

That, my friends, is growing pains. I do think we have a great influx of talent, but it will take time. We knew our returners were good! We miss Dorsey.

TDC: We say every day it’s a great day to be a GRIZ, but some are a little better than others.

Our guys wouldn’t let this one slip away like we have in games like this in the past.

TDC takes the blame for the 10 sec violation. But we’ve got mental and physical toughness. We could quit or fight. The guys all wanted to fight.

Defense was great. Hedged the ball screen early and then started switching which led to steals.

MO is one of those guys who plays better mad. He had a bone to pick with Pitt so he was on a mission. Then after the 10’sec Call he took over defensively.

No substitutions the final 10 mins. Sayed was playing the post which spread the floor and he does so much after rebounding.

We’d like to say we’ve arrived but it won’t mean anything if we don’t take care of business. Penn State will be a bigger challenge. This game will depend what we do the next 15 games. But learning how to win these games are big, and we grew up some tonight.

Win number 100 for TDC. Gonna enjoy the win tonight and eat well. GO GRIZ!!
 
Loved watching this game. In the past you could see Montana was outclassed athletically and size-wise. This team was with Pitt the entire time. Not sure where Pitt is picked to finish in the ACC but this team did not take a back seat in any aspect to the Panthers. Need to make some free-throws but man these guys were fun to watch!

Moorehead played good D and seemed to have alot of rebounds especially down the stretch and in OT. Athletically this team looks good. Everybody did some good things. We were by no means perfect and there is plenty to clean up. What I am saying is, we beat Pitt and we did not have to play perfectly to do so. We have potential to improve on this performance which is really encouraging.
 
Huge congratulations to the Griz. A team building and program building win. I second what astutegriz wrote: when the newcomers get settled & familiar with the Griz game, this team has the potential for something special. Go Griz.
 
Penn State is beatable if UM plays like they did tonight but Carr is going to be a load under the basket and he can shoot 3s. UM is not going to be overlooked after beating their instate rival. The Big Sky is looking much better so far this year.
