Griz LB Strahm arrested for DUI

Ya he gets some penalties, but the dude is a tone setter and to act like this isnt negative is foolish.

Will it affect overall scheme and have a let down from that position?? Probably not at all...Vika is a proven talent at the LB position. We will miss some of that fire tho.

I was already excited about Vika this season. I think he's a special talent. Ive seen him tackle in a couple of the short videos that Shaun Rainey has posted, and Vika finishes tackles like a monster. Keeps his feet driving through the ball carrier until he's on top of him.

Plenty of other "tone setters" on this D (some who set tone in a non-flagged manner). Time for Vika to step into that starting role he is destined for.

I agree, but I also like having that one guy who is just kinda nasty on defense....I dont think it will hurt our production from the position tho....Vika has the potential to be the next Griz great Linebacker...along with Buss

A week ago, Conner was on Missoula TV working a camp for little kids and saying how great it was to work with kids that look up to you, as was the case when he was a little tyke and attended similar camps. Way to be, Conner!

Folks, it is a DUI...that is all. A bad choice to get behind the wheel. Yes, he is lucky he didn't hurt someone, a bad choice he will remember for a long time to come! He will pay his dues for this mistake. Now let it drop! 2017 season around the corner, let's focus on the positives!

How could ANYONE even kind of talk about letting him back on the team. He messed up, and should pay for it by being kicked out of school, and SHAMED out of town. I know for a FACT that this would NEVER go over in other programs in the State. If coach Stitt is as great as some of you Maroon and Silver loving griztards think he is, he would not give this kid a second chance. Selling illegal prescription drugs to cops, or accidentally butt dialing escorts a couple dozen times is one thing (we all make mistakes..and cellphones are hard) but this is unacceptable.

Looks like his BAC was almost three times the legal limit. Hopefully this was a mistake that he will learn from. And not a bigger problem waiting to happen.

But in all seriousness, this sucks. It looks bad for everyone associated with the team, the athletic department, and the University of Montana. Damn that's a stupid mistake. I hope he learns and has a positive season.

he was not only lucky,,,the person that he did not hit is the real lucky one as they would not have had any choice in the matter....you have never lost anyone to a dui i can see that....this is serious business.

The day we don't treat a DUI as a big deal will be a sad day.

We have every right as a fan base to be upset at a scholarship athlete committing a crime that endangered himself & others. Connor purposely put himself in a bad position by choosing to drive after having that much to drink. No sympathy for him at all.

I agree this is very serious! If you have lost someone to a drunk driver for this I am sorry!
The big thing about people (not all) on this board criticizing this young man for the very stupid mistake he made, are the very same people who on Griz Game day will tailgate and leave Griz stadium in an impaired situation behind the wheel. I am a retired military Police officer. I have seen more than my share of what DUI/DWI people have done to innocent families.

Yup, totally agree. As long as you also agree that it's absolutely one hundred percent wrong for every single member of the Griz fan base who chooses to get behind the wheel after tailgating/drinking, before, during and after Griz games every Saturday. Those people, and there are THOUSANDS of them, are making a very bad choice, same as Strahm and are putting their's and others lives at risk every time they do it, whether they are caught or not. And I don't care that those people are not only athletic scholarship funded by the GSA, it's absolutely wrong and is absolutely the same stupid/wrong choice that Strahm made.

So we can put you in that VERY select group who's NEVER gotten behind the wheel after a few?

Nope, I didn't say that. I have indeed not gone my entire life without getting behind the wheel after drinking. But I haven't for more than 15 years now, and never after Griz games because I always used/use the Red's bus.

My point was, a poster said DUI/drinking and driving is a big deal and should be treated as such. I agreed with him, and pointed out that it's a big deal for every person who chooses to do so, not JUST for Griz football players. He said the Griz fan base has a right to be angry about it. I agreed with that too, but merely pointed out the Griz fan base is also responsible for about 100X as much drinking and driving on Saturday's as the football players are.
