Altitude was supposed to have the game last night, but didn't air it. Wonder why?

Just a hunch, but I'm guessing because a right-minded program director took a look and said, "Sac State-Idaho!?!? Fuuuck no. Where's that tape of the old 'Maude' reruns?"

If I remember correctly, Maude had a surprisingly low 40 time.

Good memory, Ursa. She did indeed. However as we all know, she more than made up for that with her tenacity in the weight room. No one - and I mean NOONE- outworked Maude.

Sure, but she was vastly overrated coming out of Westchester County H.S. Hands of stone. Years later, this fact would would be bolstered down in the Sunshine State with her mother's accounts of what transpired back in St. Olaf.

Yes, Maude's story is no doubt one of both life's peaks and valleys. I'm hearing of some coaches beginning to use her unfortunate cautionary tale as a warning message to their younger players. Hopefully doing so will be the advent of an entirely new generation of Maudettes.

So true, EG. I have a producer friend who said the ESPN 30 for 30: The Best That Never Was, was supposed to feature Maude, but she declined. They went with Marcus Dupree.

Glad to have Idaho back as a great rival. One of my top 5 memories of Griz football was "Nygren's Ride" to defeat the great John Friesz.

When the University of Idaho returns to FCS football they will run into a few snags right away that will set the program back for years and years. The Idaho football program will lose 22 scholarships upon returning to the FCS immediately. The University of Montana dropped 4 scholarships for 3 years and had problems adjusting (especially in-state recruiting). I'm not even sure how Idaho will handle this reduction as they are the first NCAA institution to make the move back to FCS. One other snag will be the coaching staff salaries. Paul Petrino currently makes $417,104 a year to coach football at the University of Idaho. Beau Baldwin made $217,000 Tim Walsh (Cal Poly) made $205,000 and our very own coach Bob Stitt had a base salary of $175,000 in 2015. Idaho will be paying more than double what everyone else is paying for a coaching staff in the Big Sky Conference.....when the contracts are up they will have to hire a new staff or ask the current staff to take a 50% hit in salary! It will be multiple years before Idaho recovers from this move. I don't think the fan base could get any smaller so at least they have that going for em.

Don't worry ladies, I'm still around. I've been traveling and I'm actually addressing this from 30,000 feet.

First, worry about your own team. We've already been reducing schollie numbers in anticipation of the drop down. Interestingly, we have not seen any signs of meaningful attrition among the current players. Don't sweat our coaches either, we're fine there. One thing you might want to think about is our ability to recruit your prospects. Lots of deep ties to Montana and the rockies in general. We'll definitely pull the robbery on your recruiting lists a few times. Plus, really good connections in the south so that's good too.

Regarding Sac State, it was as contemplated. It was a tune-up game that we won by 21 points. We didn't even crack open the playbook, we just concentrated on getting a couple groups up to speed.

What's the vegas line on your pillow fight tomorrow?

VD Pride... says "worry about your own team"... Look in the mirror, pal.

"Ability to recruit"... and play and lose in a glorified pig barn...No thanks, pal.

Idaho couldn't get our recruits when Idaho was FBS. Why would any recruit choose FCS Idaho over UM now? Vandal, I am sorry, but you really are an idiot.

Again, nice job on your close win and 15 first downs against SS, the team UM crushed last year.

Vandal, it was a tune up game for SS. In the past 2 years, your team was only able to sneak by the Big Sky conference bottom dwellers. Better get your own house in order. Plus you need to sign up for an online beginner football course.

Quote from Vandal:

"We (Idaho) were not able to get any of Montana' s recruits when we were FBS, but now that we're going to be FCS and in Big Sky conference, watch out. We are going to get your recruits."

"All roads lead to Moscow."

"It's true that we weren't able to beat Montana when we were FBS, but watch out now--as we're admitting failure and dropping down to FCS so that we can compete with you better."

"We also believe that we will be competitive against Idaho St. too."

"A lot of recruits whom we offered schoolies when we were FBS, but who didn't come, are going to want to come to Idaho now because they can be preferred walk-ons."

Meh, we've been feeding you castaways forever. Not worried about our ability to gaffle your recruits if we so desire.

Thanks for the prop on SS. We won that pretty handily and it was a good tune up. I expect that you had a similar game against that no-name 7th ranked team from what, the Pioneer Conference? Well, anyway, a win is a win.
