You Gotta have a QB

To me it seems like with the portal our focus would better be served going after very good high school QB’s from places like Texas, Ohio, California etc. if we can land then maybe they stay and develop more.
It seems now with like Vidlak he did work at Oregon State then didn’t work at Boise State and maybe he just isn’t a D 1 caliber QB.
Kids can use the portal and go from Texas AM to Kansas etc and don’t have to drop down. So I don’t think we are going to get the Craig Oaks types players of the game anymore.
Transfer now dropping down maybe just aren’t what they thought they were.
Vidlak has a heck of an arm no doubt . But he doesn’t put the game together. Yes I know the Oline doesn’t help. But they’re part of me thinking the oline is not bought into what Vidlak can do or not do!
Just a thought!

I'd take boring all day long if our offense operated with their efficiency. 44pts/game wins you a lot of games.

But it's still boring. I never the Cat offense was bad. In fact, I've said it was good. Is there some reason that some people have trouble reading what is said?

You didn't not say.... "I never the Cat offense was bad" did you?

No trouble reading what is said ....but hard to understand.

I just don't see what the problem with boring is? Especially if it wins you games. Nothing wrong with boring if it gets the job done.

But it's still boring. That's all I said. I didn't say it was a problem.

I guess its all about personal preference.

In this day and age, too much running is boring, in my view. I like running, by the way. Sport is more than just winning, in my view. And running does not always equal winning. Talk about having no clue.

Almost every FCS national champion over the past decade or more has had the ability to run it down their opponents throat. That's just a fact. No one cares what you like...winning matters in D1 football.

You're simply too old to understand the game. I doubt you played it. Stick to rugby - bet that game has also passed you by.

As a person who’s lived in Fargo for 25 years, and not a fan of the Bison, I had the opportunity to watch them play through the transition and championships up to 6 years ago. Watching them play was anything but boring.

You know we have more passing yards and touchdowns than you do right? To go along with our nearly 200 yards more rushing per game? So we rush for way more, pass for a little more, yet the Cat offense is more boring than the griz offense? God I love you PR! :thumb:

UM's passing game and whole offense has been grossly deficient this year. But our pass to run ratio is much higher than yours. Yes, the Cat offense is somewhat boring. Good, but boring.

Boring? You wanna talk about boring? It appears the griz offense is boring because the O Line players on the field watch Vidlak run for his like, while the plays are still going. They look super bored, like I think I saw one of them yawning while standing there watching Vidlak. Boring.

Boring is what this and most of your posts are.

Perhaps because you are a boring person. Your posts certainly are. Why has the bison attendance dropped so much in recent years? Are the fans bored?

Yep. Winning is the opposite of boring. It's quite exciting.

Some don't like boring because they are content with losing.

Winning is great, but the Cat running game is boring. Boring is okay for some, but boring is still boring. Some posters like you are content with being wrong fairly often. That’s okay, but you are still wrong.

Yes, bored of winning. That's what happens when you win it every year for a decade, not that any fan on here would ever understand that.

We did understand it. 14 years ago.

Winning is great, but the Cat running game is boring. Boring is okay for some, but boring is still boring.

So you consider a running game that totals 18 yards against NAU exciting? Stupid is still stupid.

This may be the dumbestb post ever on this site. Not surprising given the author.

My take is the Cat offense is damn exciting. Seeing the OL open giant holes and the good. Cat RBs and QBs rip-off big gained is exciting. I love seeing 600yds of offense. Hoops, do you think the Griz offense is exciting? Just curious.

I wouldn’t. Griz o-line is fine and are good generally. Wait till your other qb goes down.

All 5 starters from the o-line returned this year. They are far from fine. They are slow, they cant contain their blocks. None of them have a mean bone in their body, it's embarrassing. They are the weakest link on the offensive side of the ball. Coach Germer needs to be held accountable on the regression of the O-Line. These guys should be kicking ass from all the experience they have had the field. I know im not the only one who see's this.

Anyone who describes the oline as fine has neither played or coached this position. They maybe big, but they are not athletic. Watch the technique and blocking schemes of NDSU, SDSU or kitties. These are athletes who can block with power on the inside and quickness on the edge. As Hauck said, everyone in the country has talented big guys on the radar. The state of this university and program will not be attractive to these guys.

You are an idiot. The Cat running game is boring. In this day and age, all running games are boring. Passing is way more exciting. The game must have passed you by.

Can you explain the wars your/our US military has lost. Lost in Afghanistan. Basically lost in Iraq. Lost in Vietnam. Are you into losing and mediocrity? Do you complain to the brass, or on the internet?

You seriously wanna go with a losing and mediocrity angle while defending the “exciting” passing game of the Griz?

You’ve gone full retard. Never go full retard.

If the ‘Scat running game is boring, how do you characterize the Griz running game?
