YOU EVER HEARD OF A SAFETY??

Here's the way I see it, really. For years and years, the griz always got the benefit of the call, the ball always bounced their way, in close games they always came up with the big turnover. This year was the exact opposite. In the course of a season, success comes in the form of good play and good luck. It really cost you guys some games this year to not have that good ole griz luck going your way.

Yeah, I think the officials got both calls correct.

I agree, but DON'T want to. I want to blame someone for our loss who is not associated with the GrizNation. The ref's seem convenient.

Morons the kickoff was for sure a safety, the pass maybe i could see how it wasn't but it still could have been!
its funny you call people morons, these people are the ones that actually KNOW the rule.....if you actually KNEW the rule you would know it wasnt a saftey because the force of the kick is what put the ball in the endzone, doesnt matter where the return man touches it.

The turning point was when a ref called the toss of the ball in the air when we had them stopped!

A tad bit cheeky if you ask me!

We can't kick a field goal? Or two? Go for it on fourth down........ take a chance!

The refs did not lose the game for us. Old man Delaney gets the honor!

I count 2 safeties that they missed today.
Really?

Gilbert never had control of the ball, the ball rolled into the endzone on its own, kneeling it was an obvious touchback.

McGhee threw the ball within 10 yards of Tray (#7) who is an eligible receiver, there is no requirement that the ball cross the LOS on an incomplete pass.

EDIT poiuyter beat me, thanks
Seems crazy that someone can muff a punt into the end zone and down it....lol

Until someone has possession its just a live ball bouncing around whether somebody touches it or not.

I was surprised that the BSC refs made the right call actually.

Once the officials called a conference after the play, I knew it was a no-win for the Griz. It was either a safety as originally signalled or they would discuss it and come up with another interpretation. Don't know the rule myself so assume after the conference they got it right.

We got screwed a little by the refs.

We got screwed a little by the Cats.

We screwed up big time on our own.
Went both ways man....but I will admit that it seemed the Griz were probably on the losing end of the Big Scare Ref f***[*] battle......
How do you figure it went both ways? The only calls against MSU were all the false starts, there were 2 calls on the Griz for helmet hits, one was highly questionable on Hermanson and the other one on Bienneman lead to a first down on a play that would have led to a Cat punt. They missed 2 interference calls that would have given the Griz first downs, I did not see any calls against MSU that were bad!!

Those helmet-to-helmet hits were far from questionable. Hermanson clearly did it.

I thought so, I also thought that there were some possible PI no calls on both sides

For years I've wondered when the bill would come due. Hopefully it's paid in full with the 3-4 games that could have been Ws this season.

ya but this so called "LUCK" is a result of hard work and preperation, its something GOOD teams always seem to have....and you cant argue the fact with an avg BSC qb we would have won that game.

I think Shay is at least an average BSC QB so I gotta disagree.

Yeah, I dont think that the UNC, UCD, or PSU qb would have been any better today

that's my point, Mr. Obvious.

I will have to watch the pass in the endzone on dvr, but looked like it was at the feet of lineman. Next safety, Gilbert dropped the ball, picked it up and intentionally backed into the endzone to kneel it. That play was right in front of me as our seats are on the southwest side goal line. Watch that one again 2506..no question about that one! I am not saying the refs changed the outcome, but missed PI calls and Wags being held numerous times are just a few examples.

The unbiased ROOT announcers said both non safety calls were correct. They replayed both a couple of times.,

I was just supporting your thesis 8-)

You need to watch it again, the ball rolled into the endzone on its own, Gilbert stepped back and picked it up and knelt

Those same announcers also said that the refs missed an obvious pass interference call on MSU and they also said when our cornerback hit McGhee that it should have been a fumble. I am beating the dead horse here, and I am not blaming the refs 100% because we had our chances, but every possible call today went again the Grizzlies, and that is correct on that touchback ball that he got control of it on like the half yard line and then backed into the end zone. How is that call on Hermanson made when the receiver is juggling the ball, he has every right to lay a hit on him, and the brunt of the hit was with the shoulder pad.

Yes he can hit him, he just cant hit him high and go helmet to helmet, been that way all year, in fact they have been calling those for about 3 years

Not going to argue the mcghee pass/fumble, it could have gone either way, and I havent watched it again yet.

their were PI no calls on both sides, I like when they let them play.

Oh yeah, just because they have a mic doesnt make someone an expert, so unbiased or not, the announcers often dont know sh!t

IMO the griz had a couple calls go against them today, but the Griz also shot themselves in the foot with 2 missed FG's and a pretty poor passing game.

the possible safety (not the kick off) when DM was throwing out of the end zone was close, not sure the ball made the line of scrimmage.

the biggest issue was the pass/fumble, pretty sure it was a fumble as its the empty hand rule. Not sure as I didn't watch it twice, but watching it on TV it looked like a fumble.

Griz have talent, but your passing game doesn't exist right now, if you guys find a QB in the offseason you'll be tough next year.

2506 just because you have a keyboard does not mean that you know jack sh!t. Give me an instance where a Cat receiver was interfered with. The refs were blantantly one sided today and you f@cking know it. Actually you don't know it because you don't know anything about the game of football!!
