Yet Another Week

I just noticed on the bracket that the FCS NC game is scheduled for Jan 10, stretching the season out yet another week. Probably to try to avoid competing with Bowl games. But just crazy.

If they want to be employed next week they better be hustling this week, not sitting on their thumbs waiting for news like so many eGrizers.

That's little consolation to potential recruits. "Hey kid, I want you to play for us but I'm not sure I will have a job next week and who knows if the new head and his staff can still use you in their scheme."

My guess is recruiting for the scholarships that are left is somewhat in limbo right now until we have a new coach. Dead period I believe starts next week. My guess is the new coach will ultimately make the decision on how he thinks he needs these last openings filled.

I have been a vocal critic of this staff many times. One thing they do not lack is professionalism. SG in particular is a man of very high morals and integrity. I believe this staff exemplifies character and their recruiting has been exceptional. I am not worried about recruits being on the fence. If KH makes a good hire things will be fine and there is a high probability some staff will be retained. I was hoping Stitts would get the nod and he would keep some of the staff in tact.

This wait is tough. I have no patience. I am trying to learn how to be patient. Have they announced the new coach yet? How about now? Any news? Seen smoke?

My inside informer right next to the president just told me Mick Delaney is coming back out of retirement and will become the new coach. Taking over for himself and will sign a 5 year contract.

So they get away from the bowl games and go head-to-head with NFL Divisional Playoffs (semi-final games). Brilliant!
