Colter Nuanez always elevates the discourse around Montana sports. He's a big-time guy, a Montana treasure.
I do wish the questions from the rest of the Montana sportswriters were more in the spirit of true journalism. As one example, if I were an editor and one of my writers asked a coach or a player, "How did it feel to (fill in the blank)" I would tell them, "How will you feel if you get fired?"
So: How did it feel to win a game? (It always feels good to win a game!) How did it feel to play in front of an empty field house (Like a closed-door scrimmage!) Puh-lease!
Do these guys ever read this board? Here are the questions I'd like answered:
Freddy Brown made his first appearance in three years in the program. How would you evaluate his performance? Did he earn more playing time? Since we know you like to let out-of-town recruits play in front of their hometown fans, was this to give him some true game experience before a hometown appearance in Seattle?
We know injury information is private. But can you tell us when you expect Carter-Hollinger to return?
When will we see Hunter Clarke? Or will we?
What's up with Cameron Satterwhite? Or Robby Beasely?
I'd like to know about your rotation when we get deeper into the season. You've been a seven-eight man rotation guy, but at the same time, you've said in a pandemic you might have to extend that rotation. What are your feelings now?
You've been an outstanding recruiter, possibly the best ever at Montana .But if you're committed to the eight-man rotation, what does it mean for some genuinely talented guys who aren't going to see much playing time? How will you keep everybody happy?
You're from Tacoma. You're about to play UDub, a team you know well. What are their strengths? And what will you do to prevent the frigid starts that characterized both the USC and Georgia games, effectively taking us out of the game in each case after about three minutes?
I believe there are federal and state statutes that prevent coaches from answering many of your questions. Coach speak or not commenting is required. Ha.
