Some highlights from BH:

- Lots of good stuff this year.
- Playing so many highly ranked teams in a small stretch was unique.
- Was a good year - he enjoyed it.
- Team best described by the word competitive.
- Problems - not stopping the run, and not running well enough.
- Have to practice better to get better.
- Would not answer question on staff changes - "for him and staff - not for you."
- Doesn't think the gap between Griz and NDSU is very big. Made bad plays on D. Execution issue.
- Adjustments have to be made to defend against the neighbors. Scheme issue.
- Says team is "good up front" but, young.
- Will always be looking for a QB in the portal.
- Believes the Griz can compete for a national championship..."why not."

It was fine - not sure what else you eant him to say. Season sucked - he knows it. He also likes the team and players.

I don't know man...just seems like they will be spinning their wheels from this point forward.
- Said defending the QB1 offense (e.g., MSU) has to be fixed.
- Kids need to get after finals now.
- Young core returning.
- The portal in many ways has replaced JC recruiting. But we will always recruit HS players.
- Risk of our guys entering the portal - If you don't want to be here, go. This is a good place to be; we want
players who want to be here.
- A lot of business as usual - different than "spinning their wheels."

I didn't hear any excuses.

I guess the playing a bunch of ranked teams in a short sequence could be construed as such...but I didn't take it that way. I didn't hear any excuses...

I'm making the choice to believe that his comment on his phone(s) blowing up was a signal that transfers want to come here. My mind; my choice.
Or outside assistant coaches job hunting and smelling blood in the water....

He sure did make it a point to let everyone know how important or popular he was.. ugh.

We need a new OC and Line coaches, which ties into a new Strength and Conditioning coach as well. We were Dominated on the LoS when playing good teams and our Offensive scheme frankly I feel is garbage.

I saw a whipped puppy dog. Struggled to answer the last question, "what are optimistic about with this football team" wouldn't even look people in the eyes while he was struggling to find a response. He knows, another ass-kicking by the Cats in Missoula next year will be his last.

No he doesn't, that's not even close to the way he thinks.

He never brought that up, it was a response to a question loaded with that information, to which his response was, maybe that took a toll on us. It was unique, but that's the way schedules can be. You need to be ready for whoever you're playing that week.

Absolutely. You're going to see a significant down tick in QB club memberships and season tickets. The administration could hear the boos at playoff game and see a nearly empty stadium.

Did you see how he scratched his left ear at one point? Man, he's so arrogant and dismissive. You can tell from that ear scratch that he doesn't know how to win. He also furrowed his brow a few times when thinking about an answer. What a dick!

Too bad he doesn't realize the honorable thing to do for the Griz football program is step aside for the next coach. He will be a place holder for another year.
I remember the excitement I had when Stitt was hired as I hoped he would be a Don Read clone. I was wrong but having hope was nice. No excitement for another year.

There's a lesson in here, somewhere.

It’s so funny to read the different takes. It’s going to be very hard for the administration or AD to tell Hauck to move on or to relieve him of his duties. If you look at it just on the surface:

- he is 36-17 (68%) overall with two 10 win seasons
- been to playoffs 3 of 4 years here
- quarterfinals twice
- team high gpa (yes it matters greatly what kids are doing in the classroom)
- no kids getting in trouble
- fundraising at an all time high (qb club up over 400 members since his return)
- more facilities like the indoor practice bubble being built

I mean if you just look at all of this stuff on paper that would be extremely hard to get rid of, most people would be pretty dang happy with that set up.

I think the guy has a lot of improvements to make. I think he definitely has to make some changes with some coaching staff, but I also realize that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. We are a pretty spoiled fan base.

...be interesting what his boss thinks Haslem....was he okay with the Haucks (2)
performance this year? I thought we were supposed to be the top dog so who
really cares about the other 5 teams that beat us...obviously you schedule these
teams Mr. Haslem...does the fault lay with you and not Mr. Hauck...
or did you think we were going to kick everyone's asses that's why you scheduled
those teams...its all your fault Mr. Haslam.

... Stitt wasn't making the standard of what was expected when he lost to the Cats
going 7-4, ...was this true Mr. Haslam....is Hauck under a different standard?

..we were told from the beginning we were on a fast track to the NC...according to
Hauck...is there any accountability to these statements...Mr. Haslam

...its hard to see though the smoke screen.....whats real and what's BS...

....in 2 years Vigen has put a coaching staff in that has surpassed ours...let that sink in!

Yes, he didn't bring it up...of course it was a response. He said it was unique in his career to play so many good teams in such a short window.

It wasn't an excuse, at least I didn't take it as such. But, somebody could take it as such...

No, he doesn't, but that is what is in front of him and I guarantee he knows it.

When asked about the talent gap between UM and NDSU: "We gave up four big runs in that game - I watched the film. We can't do that. Um, but beyond that, it's not that far apart. I mean, watching the film, I'm encouraged watching it, frankly."

He said this with a totally straight face, y'all.

He also said they'd played some really good teams when the record read 5-0. I'm sure he'd watched the film of those game too. Said that with a straight face as well.

On the comparison to the Cats and NDSU running games did he say they have to fix the QB run option but on the power gap run from Bison they’re ok? 4 td’s for over 68 yards….not sure that’s ok🤔 maybe I heard wrong

OK, but he didn't bring up that we had just played 5 cupcakes to go 5-0. The 6th cupkake Idaho proved not be such even with a first year coach inheriting a dumpster. So then the tough part comes and we lose to both Sac and Weber (no excuses - they were losses). Then 2 more cupcakes which we beat into submission. Then the debacle. Then a playoff win to a team from a weak conference that may not have happened if SEMO had acted like they had ever been there before, played 4 quarters, and not been penalized because they techincally were seeded higher but were bought out and had to play on the road because of self-serving NCAA bid requriements. Then the second debacle. If as a coach you can't coach your team to even break even against tough teams then maybe it is time to retire to a life of fly fishing. Coaching changes can be tough but there are plenty of examples of success starting just a little southeast of Missoula.

I think what he's saying is that on those 4 plays, guys just didn't do a good job, where they did on the other plays, while against the cats, it was a scheme issue throughout the entire day.

The stats kind of bear that out. 169 yards on 38 carries (other than the 4 long runs) isn't great, but not bad either.

Meanwhile MSU had 20+ runs of 8 yards or more (I'm guessing this number, but I'm sure this is correct  ).

See it through the maroon glasses but I’d love to see him break down those 4 to runs….what happened? The first one or two happen but then the last two did they adjust? Or stay in the same hoping something would happen! Evidently not!
