No. 25 BYU romps over Wyoming, 52-0

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Max Hall produced some gaudy stats on the way toward an even more impressive number. The BYU quarterback completed 20 of 22 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns in the No. 25 Cougars' 52-0 romp over Wyoming on Saturday, putting him one win away from tying the school record.
Hall now has 28 career wins, one behind Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer, who played at BYU from 1988-91. "I plan on winning the next three," Hall said. "Really it's an honor for me to be able to play three years here and to have a chance to be the all-time leader in wins."

The Cougars (7-2, 4-1 Mountain West) shut out Wyoming for the second year in a row and have won six straight against the Cowboys. They beat Wyoming 44-0 last year. Hall completed throws to seven different receivers before taking a seat midway through the third quarter.

... Saturday was the most lopsided loss for Wyoming (4-5, 2-3) since 1985 when BYU beat the Cowboys 59-0. Wyoming freshman quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels was 14 of 23 for 108 yards. It was the third time the Cowboys have been shut out this season under new coach Dave Christensen, a former offensive coordinator at Missouri who was hired in December to revitalize the Cowboys' offense.

"We came out and didn't compete from the beginning to the end of the game," Christensen said. "It is so uncharacteristic of what this group has done the entire season."

UW 30, SDSU 27: Cowboys come alive, rally past Aztecs
SAN DIEGO -- The Wyoming Cowboys looked dead to rights.

Instead, their postseason hopes are alive and well. The Pokes not only erased a 21-point, fourth-quarter deficit, they scored 24 unanswered points as freshman kicker Ian Watts capped an unbelievable comeback by converting on a 43-yard field goal with 23 seconds left to give UW a 30-27 victory at San Diego State on Saturday.

“This is up there,” UW coach Dave Christensen said when asked where the stunning comeback ranked amongst the big games he’s been a part of. “The dominance of the fourth quarter, 24-0, I don’t know if I’ve ever been in a game where you’re behind and you have to get it done. I’ve never been involved in anything like that. It’s pretty special.” And to many, it was pretty surreal. Seven days earlier the Cowboys lost 52-0 to BYU on their home field. Down 27-6 with just 15 minutes left, the hole seemed just as big. The Aztecs had already posted their first game with three rushing touchdowns of the season, the Cowboys had fumbled at their own goal line and even though the Pokes offense was yielding its best production in weeks, the hole appeared insurmountable.

Yep two top 5 teams in Laramie this year. Kind of amazing we have played 4 top 20 teams this year.

Meanwhile Wyo is improved at 5-5 but we are also playing 9 true freshman and this game against TCU will not be pretty. Hope I am wrong though.

First thing new coach did was replace every single starter Glenn had in an O skill position. It is starting to pay off slowly but we are not there to hang with TCU

here is hoping for the blizzard equalizer we need.
