Wyoming, NDSU or EWU for first away game?

I think Wyoming's young QB was behind JJ in the same school in Oregon??

No. Johnson is from Eugene, Brett is from Salem. It's possible they played each other, but Brett wasn't on the same roster as Jordan.

Hows the tailgating and overall atmosphere in Laramie?
How's the town? Anything to do on Friday evening?

Tailgating is good, atmosphere is good. Town is a little slow, but Friday evening .. well, it's Wyoming. You know what we do really well there?

Who you gonna be rooting for Titleist?

The place I'm paying my student loans to. Powder River, let 'er buck

The High School at Broadus, Montana made you take out student loans?
Those cheap b*stards, that doesn't sound fair.

I think Chris and I are gonna be in Laramie, and probably Fargo next year. I love Laramie, but Wyoming fans view the game the same as we view playing D2s.. however, since it's the home opener it should get a nice attendance, plus debuting a new coach.. unless bow season takes over.
Wyoming shouldn't take any game lightly. They're horrible....
We are 0-13 against Wyoming.

I believe he succeeded JJ as Oregon 6A player of the year.

No, they're not.
Yeah, they are. They play in the Mountain West and they've managed one winning season in the last four?!

Can you tell me when they had their last "marquee" win? Maybe 2009 against Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl, if you can call it that.

I'm a Cowboy fan but I've grown weary of their performance... Still a fan and always will be but they're horrible and have been for quite some time. Hoping Bohl can right the ship.

Good, I hope their team does as well.

UM : Wyo :: panhandle state : UM ...

I hope Wyo doesn't even bother preparing for a lower division no-body such as Montana...even though that nobody/Montana blows Wyo's average attendance out of the water...

JJ's senior year.... This ain't Tennessee were talkin'...I like our chances...

The Pokes always prepare for FCS teams.. I mean, we play Idaho all the time.

Well, if you schedule EWU for the first away game then you will beat MSU to it. That way if the Cats beat EWU this year you can blame it all on a griz hangover. If I remember correctly, you can use that argument whether the griz win or lose against the eags...lol.

Can someone give a run down on places to stay, where to get food, bars, etc? I've got buddies in Phoenix and Albuquerque and we are thinking of a road trip to Laramie. Should we get tickets through the UM or online, where will Griz Nation be seated? Whats the stadium and tailgate experience like?

If you get tickets through UM you'll be fine. The game won't be a sellout. A few hotels close to the stadium, some right across the street. Bars.. anywhere downtown you'll find plenty of watering holes. Tailgating is fine, not UM, but fine. Large tailgate area south of the stadium, then lots around the various lots.

Oh hell, Wyoming has beated Idaho two years running: 40 - 37 in overtime in 2012 and 42 - 10 in 2013. Wyoming even beat Northern Colorado last year 35 - 7, so there. Last "marquee" game for Wyoming has to be last year when they defeated Hawaii 59 - 56 in overtime. Gee-whiz, know your Vandal history for crying out loud!

So even after the Cal Poly debacle they STILL view these games as D2 games?

No strangers. Missoula and Laramie are far apart, but most of Montana and most of Wyoming aren't; they're very intertwined.

Beating Tennessee in Knoxville on their homecoming was cool..

Does Montana still view games as D2s after the NDSU debacle in 2003, or the near debacle against Central Washington in 2009(or was it 2008?)?

Dude, NDSU was 10 fucking years ago. They Wyoming carcass from the Cal Poly debacle is still WARM.

Isn't Wyoming down to their 3rd QB now? Who is it? I think the Griz have a solid chance at a W here. I know this has been said but a new coach, a new (likely inexperienced) QB... I like our chances. Earlier this year I was seriously thinking about going to Larimie but if their fans aren't into it, I know the Fargo Dome will be rocking! Hmmm, tough one for sure.

Ran into a bunch of Wyoming Cowboy fans at the George Strait concert in Austin this weekend...I was sporting Griz gear (of course). Broke the news in front of them (to my wife) that I was going to play my "Husband of the Year" card and try to get to Laramie for that game...we shall see.

Anyone know what time kickoff will be for the Wyoming game? Probably not set yet but was wondering if they typically have day or night games. We are planning on making the trip.

i for one will be rooting for you, always will go for a fcs over fbs anytime: just get tired of the ol'e we play big boy football not jv. football. heard it from the gopher, colorado state rams and the ksu wildcat faithful even heard it from wyoming cowboys fans
