WTF Bobcat vs EWU

The reason scheduling Big Sky non con games is great is that there is a very good chance that you will be a facing a ranked FCS opponent at any one time. The Big Sky, I believe is the toughest conference in the nation bar none. You have the traditional powers UM, EWU, MSU and a ton of other teams that are trying to get better NAU is never easy. It makes making the playoffs easier which is what counts.

Would you rather have a win over an out of conference opponent like Stony Brook or Lehigh or Drake (which may not be ranked at the time) or a win over a NAU team or Cal Poly team that have shown to be a 20th ranked team in the nation at any given time.. Don't sleep on Southern Utah either...they will be a factor.
I have to disagree. The mountain valley takes the cake folowed by the big sky and the caa in no particular order IMO

The Big Sky by default is the toughest conference then because the mountain valley conference is fictitious! Haha, I'm sure you meant the "Missouri" Valley conference

Well, is it too late for them to buy it out?

Haha.... winner!

I'm sure Colorado-Pueblo is looking for a game or two...

AZ: Since I don't see any other mention of DII Colorado-Pueblo, am not sure if you're making veiled reference to their beating Sam Houston State in Huntsville yesterday 47 - 21 :?:... EWU should be so fortunate as to have faired as well against SHS.

Veiled?

Let's face it. If you have to win your conference to get into the playoffs, you probably arent' going to go very far in them. This is a very important game for both schools for playoff picture.

SHHESH. THis issue has been discussed ad nausium on this site.

You might want to go easy on the latin, Cicero. Most grizz fans have a tenuous (at best) grasp of the English language. Someone might get hurt.

btw it's spelled 'ad nauseam' and "Griz" - as in 'After they dismantled EWU the discussion of the Griz as conference champions continued ad nauseam on campus.'

And it's Latin, not latin. :geek:

It's definitely Grizz. Or Grizzz, depending on context.

Seriously? You do realize that there are too many teams in the BSC for every team to play each other right? At least we are playing each other and not just taking the year off, which I'm sure will have huge play off implications.

The larger implication is that there is a high liklihood there will never be another outright BSC champion.

Why? We did it last year. It's not out of the realm of possibility that EWU, or someone else, could do it again this year.

Despite the fact that finding non BSC FCS games in the west is really difficult. I'm one Bobcat fan that loves it that we're not taking a break in the rivalry.

+1

A better question might be: Why wouldn't we continue to play every year? It makes sense, especially during 12-game seasons.

"Difficult"? How about impossible...as in, they don't exist. Sure there are a few teams if you want to travel clear to Texas, but the next nearest are all clustered along the Mississippi River drainage, which hardly qualifies as "West".

edit: OK, forgot about University of San Diego. I guess they kind of count...

Here’s the Griz 2015 Big Sky sched. Completely different almost as they gain NAU, Portland State and Idaho State back: Sept. 26 vs NAU; Oct. 3 at Davis; Oct. 10 vs Weber; Oct. 17 Bye; Oct. 24 vs UND; Oct. 31 at Portland State; Nov. 7 at Idaho State; Nov. 14 vs EWU; Nov. 21 at Montana State. We also know the Griz are playing NDSU and Cal Poly in non-conference home games next season, so that leaves the road trip to Liberty, which has never been announced by the school, but has been said 2015 is the return trip.

I also know in 2017 Montana will go to Poly for a non-con game, and the Griz play at Washington that season as well. The only 2016 non-conference game set in stone is the trip to McNeese, meaning UM will likely need to find two home games for 2016. I would almost BET one of those will be a Big Sky team, possibly UND or Southern Utah, both of which are NOT on the 2016 conference schedule.
