OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University and Stephen F. Austin University will play a football home-and-home series in 2013 and 2014, WSU Athletic Director Jerry Bovee announced Wednesday.

The Wildcats will welcome the Lumberjacks to Stewart Stadium for the season opener on Aug. 31, 2013. Weber State will return the trip to Stephen F. Austin in 2014 when the two teams meet at Homer Bryce Stadium on Sept. 20, 2014. Stephen F. Austin is located in Nacogdoches, Texas and is a member of the Southland Conference.

“We’re looking forward to this series with Stephen F. Austin and are excited about our games with the Lumberjacks,” Bovee said. “With the ever changing landscape of college football it has been difficult to schedule games. We have wanted to schedule another home-and-home series with another FCS school and we feel this will be a great series for us.”

Weber State and Stephen F. Austin have never met in football. The Wildcats are 1-3 all-time against current members of the Southland Conference. WSU will begin a home-and-home series with McNeese State, also a member of the Southland Conference, this fall when the ‘Cats host the Cowboys Sept. 15 in the first home game of the season. WSU will return to McNeese State Sept. 21, 2013.

FCS schools are permitted to play 12 games in 2013 and 2014.

Im liking this Big Sky expansion more and more, Weber would always play Great West OOC teams before, (proof of the 4 total games vs the Southland), now we are playing teams we have never played before, or at least for a while. Two straight Southland teams, wouldnt mind some games vs MVC,OVC and maybe even Southern Conf teams

I've been to Homer Brice Stadium in Nacogddoches for a game. It's not that bad. They play night games. Cats have a home and home with them starting this year too. I invite all the Lumber Jack players to the Rockin R the night before the game for drinks. It didn't work for ya at Reds, but it might work at the R-Bar.

I dont give 2 flying Ducks who wsu is playing. Post that $hit on your own lame ass board.

If you dont care, dont take the time out of your life to read and then post on the topic

Remember 09 playoffs seconds round? We beat SFA 51-0
Remember the last time SFA made the playoffs before that?
I don't because I'm only 24 but it was 1995 and we knocked them out of the semis 70-14.

I think it's safe to say we flat OWN SFA.

I'm rooting for Weber. Make the jacks fear the BigSky conference.
