And here I thought the Griz were in tall cotton with $675K, plus providing a beat down to the host UW.

Louisiana-Layfayette at Texas - $1.5 mil
Liberty at Mississippi - $1.5 mil
Buffalo at Nebraska - $1.32 mil
Fresno State at UCLA - $1.1 mil
Nevada at Kansas State - $1 mil
Army at Wisconsin - $1.2 mil

i mean, you take what you can get, although it's not much higher than the payout for the Tennessee game almost exactly 10 years ago. That one paid around $500k. the biggest dividend from this game will be the recruiting leverage it will provide for recruits in the Puget Sound area.

FBS schools offer large payouts to FBS schools. Idaho is actually getting a large payout next week because the contract was entered when they were a FBS school.

No one wants to pay the griz over a mill to potentially get beat.

I do wonder what affect this win has on future "money" games.

Well it was already hard, only going to get harder. Lower FBS teams didn't want to play us and now, I'm sure better teams will even question if they should.

Don't know how many times this has to be gone over for it to sink in and coming directly from Haslam. Lower FBS teams can't pay us enough to equal our take on a cupcake home game. It has nothing to do with whether they want to play us. You seem to want to perpetuate a narrative.

So they can pay just about any other fcs teams?

It's well known that teams don't want to pay a lower division team to come in and beat them. They pay them to come to have practice.

They won't pay enough. Girz can make more money playing CWU at home than playing Wyoming or Colorado State.

NDSU has won 6 straight against the FBS. They play Arizona in 2022 and Colorado in 2024. I'm not sure how much they are getting paid or how much money they need to make it worth while, but it seems they have no problem getting FBS schools to play them.

I am sure those schools would pay Montana enough also, but you won't find non-P5 conference schools that will, which is why it is very doubtful you will see the Griz play a MWC type school.

Except for when it comes to recruiting battles with Wyo or Col St. a win over Central Wash does nothing for recruiting but a win over a Mtn West school makes a lot of the kids think twice about accepting that schoolie from the shitty FBS school over a great FCS school.

CWU was just the example, because they can schedule any home game. My hunch, is that your scenario probably has minimal effect on a recruit considering a FBS school to attend a FCS school.

😂 Bet we never get another game at Washington.

There was an article before the game that said UW needed to get the game over with ASAP and NOT replay Montana or any FCS team ever again. Waste of time, always a blowout, yadda yadda yadda. I don't think the Griz will get another offer, at least for a long time.

App State got $400K in 2007 for beating Michigan. Ohio State's home game that day ended before Michigan's, so they played the ending on their big screen for the enthused Buckeye faithful.

Good hunch, hopefully Justin Green doesn’t seek recruiting advice from you.

I think that you are misdirected if you think scheduling a FBS team every 4 to 5 years plays a huge roll in JG's recruiting strategy.
