Wow! Post Game without petty bickering

The other thread was rapidly headed into quick sand.
So feel free to use this one to avoid the mess over there.

While I picked the Griz to win 24 to 21, and actually meant it, I didn't expect it to come out the way it did. I didn't think ND St could score 35 points on us. Also, kicking the ball to them with 3 minutes left looked like the death knell as their bread & butter is to grind the final few minutes off the clock. Nor did I expect our offense to generate 38 points on their first outing. Our boys certainly rose to the occasion and it was fun to watch!

Next up, Cal Poly and their triple 'threat'. Go Griz! :ugeek:

I agree. To me it seemed like Stitt started getting more confident with the defense as the game went on, and Holmes was a force to deal with all day.

To me Stitt's confidence in the defense grew leaps and bounds in the 3rd quarter, for him to kick that FG at the end, regardless of what anybody thinks about it, tells me he is on board they can stop anybody if they have to. I know they're decent but that was ballsy at that stage of the game.

100% agree. I know he must have had his reasons to kick that FG, but holy shit, that was putting a lot of trust in the defense. They stepped up. Could not be more proud.

The FG was a head-scratcher for me, and I decided that either Coach Stitt had gone suddenly and horribly conservative, or he was giving NDSU the finger.

I too was VERY worried at that point of the game. NDSU has had too many game ending drives not to panic.
Stitt appears to have learned how to inspire with overt confidence and positivity from Joe Glenn.

The TV announcers kept saying that Stitt based his 4th down decisions on his gut feelings. Based on that fact, I wasn't surprised by the FG call. The Griz were going backwards on that "red zone" possession. Wasn't it like 4th and goal at the 10 yard line or so? He knew he needed to come away with points...

You're correct we'd been going backwards and I'm sure he wanted to have something positive out of that drive. Though giving ND State the ball back while they still held the lead, and just 3 minutes left, was spooky from my point of view. Thrilled how our defense responded to get it back for the good guys! :ugeek:

How could there be bickering when our team beat the 4 time national champions?
As they say Stitt Happens and I don't think anyone should be unhappy.

Someone here's been pissing and moaning a little. The nerve of the players leaving for 15 minutes before coming back. And honestly, who kicks a field goal? Geewhiz.

And some people are just little dicks.

I'd rather spend time in my room than have to read garbage questioning our coaches decision to pull off arguably the biggest upset in team history.
