Would UM Have Gotten into the Playoffs

Had the Griz had a good win over the Cats, would UM have made the playoff field, or not? I haven't been following.

Yes they would have.

Probably would've been in ahead of 7-4 Weber and most certainly ahead of 6-5 Illinois State.

Did not earn the right for a spot in the playoffs, with or without a victory of the Cats.

agreed, but the fact remains -- YES the griz would've made the field with a win, would've been ranked ahead of Weber and bumped them out

the 'earning it' happened in the decades past with tradition, and equally with WA-Griz stadium draw (NCAA bid $$$)

Correct, however not right, didn't need the Griz in the playoffs to further the pain, and it pains me to even say that.

No, we wouldn't have bumped Weebs out. They would still be in if we won. Samford and Illinois State were the last two in and one of them would be out.

Griz would have been in the playoffs at 7-4 with the way the rest of the FCS landscape went this year. Any kind of win over the Cats and they would have been in. That's what made Saturday even more depressing...

When both UNI and the Griz lost it certainly opened the doors. Argument could have been made would the Big Sky have got 5 teams in with a Griz win on Saturday. I still believe they would have taken Montana 4th and Weber State would have still made it in and been the 5th team chosen from the Big Sky.

No, Weber 4th... but the way things played out yes the griz would have been taken as 5th team from the BSC. Secondly, per the bolded portion above... we did you a favor.

The committee wouldn't even have discussed them. They simply would have put the GRIZ on a line and moved on to the next team.

I think they are in but would not have bumped Weber. They would have taken out Illinois St. at 6-5

Griz would have made it for the same reason UNH keeps getting in with. 7-4 record...history.

I can't believe they would have taken 5 from the Sky
