Worst FCS Stadium

EWU's stadium is only the worst on every other year when the Griz take over. Otherwise, it's just fine for their program.

I believe Richmond is getting a new stadium, or is in the works of trying to do one.. but their current stadium blows.

Dear App Fan,
Apparently you're not familiar with the Litter Box, S.E. of here??
a Mock up of how nice it will look when they get Lights!

Outside of Montana, Big Sky stadiums are garbage. No Cat fans will say that their stadium is better than the Griz Stadium. But, it would be a shock for a Griz fan to admit that Montana State has the 2nd best stadium in the Big Sky.

1986cat is right.

This is more of a confession than a statement

ISU by far. The dome is cold, quiet, and reminds me of the Mines of Moria when it's empty.

Holt Arena is more of a woodshed and I am honest-to-God afraid the roof will collapse. Parts of it have fallen off and last year we had all sorts of issues with water leakage.

I'd take the Litter Box of MSU over Holt; as a kid from Big10 country I feel it's a travesty to have football indoors.

If I had the few hundred million I'd tear that place down and build a better stadium. Or convert it into a basketball arena.

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa

the 'old' stadium at isu would make for a great football venue, if there was anybody out there who cared enough to dump a bunch of cash on it. outdoors, right next to a steep hill (keeping the sound in), shielded somewhat from the weather, more 'on campus' than holt, plus there are some watering holes nearby to help the tailgating. get rid of the track (plenty of room by holt), and all you'd need is to toss up 12,000 seats.

Sorry, but the stadium you are referring to is the soccer field. And no way in hell that becomes the new football stadium. In fact if I had the gobs of money I'd upgrade Davis Field to make it a high-caliber soccer stadium, thus cementing ISU as a regional soccer power for years to come (we're already pretty damn good at soccer, so in fantasy land this would do for our program what Wa-Griz did for ya'll)

Plus there are no areas to accomodate modern parking demands for football. I mean, it's only a brisk walk from the cemetery, and student housing is in that block as well. In fact, there are too many buildings in that block of various natures to bulldoze for parking and stadium expansion. It'd be too unwieldly and unrealistic for football. I say either tear down Holt and build a new stadium or lower the field and expand the stadium to get ground-level seating (like what the Vandals want to do). The latter is probably more realistic. Unfortunately, we're so dirt poor that nothing outside of various little projects are feasible. It's depressing.

Getting back on topic, Eastern Washington is pretty high school like. I hate Sac State's field; you can see the damn freeway. Not cool.

Weber State has a decent football stadium, but no fans.

I am affraid I havent been to many road football games, actually the only road football game ive been to was at Wyoming, so I cant really say much about worst stadiums, but I have been in Holt for a b-ball game and it was terrible.

Yeah, the game that Appalachian played to beat U of Richmond last month was the last game that Richmond will play in that stadium. However, the City of Richmond owns that stadium, not UR. So it didn't qualify for our purposes. They are building an 8,000 seat stadium on campus that looks like it will be pretty nice. I believe they wanted to build a 20,000 seat on campus stadium, but local home owners objected to the traffic so much that UR figured it would be best to go ahead and build 8,000 seats and work on getting city permission to enlarge it later on.

I cannot believe what some of you said about some stadiums. I thought there was a lot of crappy ones here in the East, but to have to get everyone out of the aisle if someone has to go, or sitting down and having your legs touch your seat and the one in front of you....wow.

I have not seen it but the Campbell Camels in NC must be really bad. I wonder if App will ever have to play there if we stay FCS? Ow, the agony.

With the upgrades that ISU has done to Holt (mainly adding GREEN field turf), I'd have to say that ewoooo now has the worst facilities In the conference. And yes, they took a major step backward with that ridiculous red field.

This makes absolutely zero sense.

- When built they must've not realized that people need to walk down the seating aisles. When you sit in the seats your shins touch the back of the seats in front of you. If someone needs to get up and walk past you, your choices are to stand on your seat, or have the whole aisle get up and stand in the steps to clear the way\
Same as Kibbe...

Portland St. has to play in a baseball stadium ! It sucks for watching football, not fan friendly at all .
That was what, like 4-5 years ago? They now have one of the nicer stadiums around. Where else can you buy local Micros while watching the game? Not too mention it is right down town close to one of my fav bars... :thumb:

Here's a link to the rankings of all the stadiums in the FCS as of Jan of '14.

App St and Ga Sou are still included so its not completely accurate. I beleive the list has been posted on here somewhere b4 cus I remember people talking about them ranking MSU ahead of us. ISU, Sac, and N Col are on the bottom 10.
