Idaho State has got to be in there somewhere.

As bad as ISU is... Eastern Washington is a glorified High School Stadium
revisited......ewoos has only gotten worse with that gawd awful red field...... :puke:

Personally I like that red field. Would love to see ours Maroon, Silver and Black.
You should be banned for a year for that post

Add to the fact that they have oil filters in the background... :puke:

Portland St. has to play in a baseball stadium ! It sucks for watching football, not fan friendly at all .

Not even close to true anymore. Providence Park was developed into a soccer specific stadium four years ago. Granted, some of the seats are wooden bleachers, but it's not the facility that makes this an awful place to watch the game. That would be the fault of the atmosphere. The stadium itself is fantastic.

My fiancee and I stayed in Pocatello last spring for a night just passing through. We always go and check out the local campus and kinda reminisce about our UM days (aaahhh). We went over to ISU and checked out Holt, we walked right down the open tunnel and onto the field. They were just finishing an indoor track meet at the time. I thought it was a pretty cool stadium. Definitely felt like it was built in the 70's, but was clean, functional and had a weird nostalgia feel to it. I liked it.

I have been to the Griz/UNC Bears at Nottingham Field in Greeley and it was pretty sad. This was their homecoming game 3 years ago I want to say and I noticed a few things:
- Of the 8,500 that it supposedly holds there were 4,750 in attendance... Against the biggest team in the conference... On homecoming day...
- Half the fans were Griz fans.
- The student attendance was embarrassing and half left when we were up big at half time.
- The stadium is basically a glorified HS stadium for sure.

I had thought it had been a misfired attempt to build dorms on campus that emulated nearby grain silos. The first time I saw those things, seriously, I thought, "what are they?" followed by "OMG! Dorms!," followed by "Grain silos? They actually tried to incorporate grain silo architecture onto a Palouse campus?"

But, it didn't quite work for me. There is no way a responsible architect would have proposed that motif, a school administration would have approved of such a concept, nor a state legislature fund such a project. Now I know why.

"Oil filters" works much better.

You remember the pics of Oklahoma panhandle states set up that has to be up there on this list.

OPSU isn't FCS so they wouldn't be on this list. But yes, their stands look like they were built out of Legos.

Cal Northridge was the worst when they had football; the goal posts were still leaning from the earthquake.

Western Illinois was the next worst, where we got smoked in a playoff game by about 20 Big 10 transfers.

Next worst was McNeese; it was kind of like a WPA project, with scaffolding. or ISU -- without the dome and the concrete-based "astro turf.

Holt Arena is amazing.....once a year in June.....when the field is covered with wrestling mats. Other than that....not so much

I bet if you were flying over those beauties they might look like tits. If you were from Ewu and if you were high on meth. It's a damn good thing nobody has tried to titty fu*k those buildings the way Screaming Eagles mom likes it or the DOT would shut down the highway back to Spokane. Not to mention the therapy and antibiotics....... ugh

:coffee:

Holt Arena does everything it was designed to do in 1970: keep ISU fans warm and comfortable while watching Saturday NIGHT games in late October and November. Unfortunately, our administration has now decided to play DAY games all season long. Nobody wants to be inside on a beautiful fall afternoon in southeastern Idaho.

The Dome rocks when it's full -- as it was during the "glory days" of 1981-83, and during the Jared Allen run. It was pretty fun for Cal Poly and Weber this year, too. It also serves the community well, having hosted everthing from indoor rodeos to Fleetwood Mac concerts. Overall, for $1.2 M bucks, you couldn't ask for a better bargain. And if it makes visiting Griz fans uncomfortable, all the better! ;)

Well shit. You learn something every day. I always thought those were prison guard towers in case someone tried to escape.
