If he does, I hope he would realize how desperate we are to hear anything????? We have posts on EWU's coach, Rodney Stuckey, Coach K, Blaine Taylor, Michael Ray, and even a post on Adriane Peterson's dad. COME ON!!! All of these posts are on Griz has beens, not Griz at all, or the most recent on Chavey and how proud we are of him, but even Chavey is a has been. This program needs all the help it can get right now. Trying to build interest in a program isn't by keeping secrets. It has gotten to the point that we are not even talking about Griz B-Ball anymore.

I wish I knew the reasoning behind the silence as well. Could it be that way too many GRIZ fans could care less about basketball? Maybe part of the thinking is this fan base has not earned what we are expecting? I have not heard anything from any player or coach. All that I am about to post is based from an avid fans point of view that has 100% respect for every coach and player. Many on EGRIZ know without doubt, I am a huge GRIZ basketball fan. I have in the past criticized the fans for not supporting the team. Rather one agrees or disagrees with me, I hope every egrizzer can respect my opinions regarding the basketball team and/or lack of support by the fans. I have pride and passion in my favorite basketball team on earth, the montana grizzlies. Why? Each and every player and coach has won me back, that goes well beyond W's and L's. No I do not have free tickets or special priveleges. I pay for my seats like anyone! The following may be considered of the topic, but here it goes:

IMHO, mens basketball is underappreciated and not as respected by the Athletic department and GRIZNATION (fans). Anymore it is all about FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL! I too love GRIZ football. Damn people there is more to this athletic program than football. Would it really hurt to attend the home games regardless of who we are playing? Fact, the GRIZ players and coaches bust their ass for us fans every bit as much football players do.

I am tired of hearing the "when the griz win again we will show up again!" BS to that. Fact is under LK the GRIZ suprisingly won the BSC tourney his 1st year. Supposedly a good sign, unfortunately the next year we still had lame ass attendance (for GRIZ standards). So the team goes out and has one of all time best GRIZ seasons, yet attendance still lacking! Those boys were winning, they were playing basketball the way it is meant to be played, staying out of trouble, being fan friendly, etc. In a nutshell, everything, and then some one expects from a basketball program. Why in the hell did the majority of GRIZ fans still not support that team?

Now enter Tinkle as head coach, coming off one of the best seasons in griz history. High expectations after the previous season. Yet beginning of the season came, still lame ass attendance!! One would think interest should have been at all time high then. Yet, not so in GRIZNATION! As it turned out, 06/07 was huge disappointment for the team and the 4,000 loyal fans! This team collectively made no excuses for it. I am fortunate to know and have known each member of this team since LK took over. I have and will continue to reassure everyone everyway possible, our players and coaches are all CLASS! For those that left the program for bad seasons, Kennedy, etc "LET bygones be bygones" "Water under the bridge" etc. Get out there to support Tinks and his boys. Damnit, take a drive to the campus go into the coaches office, introduce yourself, bs with the coaches, take time to watch the summer pick up games. I promise you, you will be impressed with each player and coach making up the team!

Anyway, I have said my peace! From one avid griz fan to all GRIZ fans, "Please give this program the benefit of your doubts!" I know the players, coaches, and AD would be very appreciative and thankful! I want to turn Dahlberg back into "THE ZOO!!" For that to happen, it takes each and everyone of us, at least 7500 to support this team night in and night out. Is that asking too much?

Note to the few GRIZ basketball faithfuls, such as ATHOME. From one fan to another "THANK YOU!" It is good to know someone in late teens to early 20s will be carrying the torch for GRIZ basketball the next half century! ATHOME, hope to see you carrying this torch for years to come. We need more like you near your age.

I know as a griz fan i should hope both do great -- and i do -- but it'd be ironic and amusing to see the football program cave in under the weight of its own arrogance while basketball rose to prominence and started drawing capacity crowds twice a week.

No need to kill, especially after recent happenings on a certain campus. :thumb: Seriously, my prayers and thoughts are still with everyone involved in the VA TECH disaster.

I do hope the football team does well but i think they could use a piece of humble pie. These types of things are cyclical so it's probably a matter of time before it comes true. But just imagine how pissed you'll be when the Griz bball team is rolling again but they can't move to a better conference bc the football team is in gutter and didn't make the move when they had the chance.

I really like Tinks and believe he will just get better and better as a coach. However he needs to get up to speed on his recruiting skills. I honestly believe that if he had all his recruits squared away , he would announce them. Something is amiss in zootown and it has nothing to do with fan support.
