Just killing time so thought I'd check into Big Sky Tv ...for the first time I have seen the Lady Griz since their debacle against Pittsburgh...yikes...NAU is pounding them and the home announcers are astonished at how badly the UM team is playing against the worst defensive team in the league..17-6....this is truly a waste of money for both schools...really bad....Now I know why I haven't continued to watch...Maybe the UM team will pull this one out, but watching this is painful..

Well, they lost three of the last 4 games last year going into the tournament and still won the tournament.

This year they lost 2 of the last 4 games, or won 2 of the last 4 games. Maybe they will win it all next week like they did last year.

The thing is, with Robin coaching, this wouldn't surprise me one bit! :thumb:

Ugly start and even uglier finish......

Just once I would like to see the Lady Griz come out in something besides their standard zone to start a game!!!! Just to switch things up and give the opposing offense a different look and one that they have not been practicing against. This getting down 10 to 15 points at the start of almost every game is just killing the Lady Griz. I now part of it is the shitty shooting but come on.

And speaking of shooting Hill needs to quit shooting so much if she is not on and focus on dishing the ball. The last five games she is 16 of 64 and if you take the MSU game out she is 11 of 56 including a 2 - 17, 4 -13 and 3 -16.

uhhh that isnt that good is it

On the other hand, Jos Tinkle had another solid performance for Stanford with 16 points in last night's defeat of Cal...BTW, she is the Pac-12 women's FT leader well above 90%...was 23 straight before missing one against the Bears. You'd hope that talent would transfer to Griz basketballers?

A couple observations. Remembering the LGs game against Vanderbilt a few years ago in the NCAA Tournament, their HC stated that they deliberatedly switched their defenses from zone to man-to-man every other play. I wish the LG would take heed of what their opposing coaching staffs utilize and gauge accordingly. They might just learn something in this ever changing world of basketball when it comes to defensive schemes. Like in the more things change the more it stays the same type of idea.

I'd still favor Torry Hill's shooting it as much as possible; first, you don't want your players tentative on offense, they have to maintain an offensive edge. Besides, at least she's shooting the ball!!! I get irrate at times when our offensive scheme of things is to but outpass the opposition. Too many open shots discounted for an extra pass does not impress. That's what hurt the LG against MSU in Bozeman; for the first three quarters of that game the LG were striving to pass it into someone near the baseline or under the basket for a layup; seemed like about eighty per cent of those passes were intercepted and led to turnovers and transitional points. Not good. Some discipline on offense needs to be recognized and augmented as well.
