They don't review those calls. That's what the replay review is supposed to do, but in cases like this, I feel like someone should have the authority to overrule what looks, from this angle, to be a blatant miss. Again, I don't even see what there was on that play for the review booth to even look at that play again, but the decision on targeting has been made.Hopefully the league/BSC reverses that.
I'm pretty sure the team can appeal and get the suspension for the 1st half of next weeks game reversedThey don't review those calls. Crown of the Helmet:
A player commits targeting if they lead with the crown (the top part) of their helmet, regardless of whether the contact is made to the head or neck area of the runner
There was a penalty awarded, unfortunately. They gave them half the distance and moved them from the 14 to 7 while the TV timeout was coming back.So no flag thrown and no penalty, or was there a penalty? Did the call come from the review booth? Weird.

Google AI says: The appeals process, established in 2022, allows a conference to submit a request to the NCAA national coordinator of football officials to review the call. If the review determines it is "clearly obvious" the player should not have been disqualified, the suspension is vacated.

I would 100% agree with you, if he can, he has already seen it and the wheels will get rolling on that first thing tomorrow. I'm just not convinced that a 2022 rule that was APPROVED FOR 2022 still applies, but I hope it does. We pulled up the ESPNU replay just to rewind it back to watch that play on the larger screen and it amazes me that they reviewed the hit. We had to see 3 extra minutes of commercials to get to the start of the 4th quarter and you can just hear the referee with seemingly his mic breaking up announce the disqualification and Peyton I think is on the field asking why. It seems like the whole thing was conducted in such a covert manner.I would bet dollars to donuts Bobby will appeal that. And it could be overturned. I sure hope so because that was bogus.
