Wine guy vs Anderson

By putting engineering at the end of a degree makes it sound like an engineering major but it reality a business degree for those saying MSU gets players due to engineering over UM
Except that you have to get through differential calculus to graduate. That's not something that is required by any major at the UM except maybe math or physics, certainly not business.

Which is probably what MSU had to add to appease the engineering school guys. When a Montana college wants to add a major they have multiple steps including not stepping on other schools feet. There are some programs in the process of being evaluated ( takes years) and some have even run into acronym type issues that are seen as infringing on programs at MSU. Montana couldn’t even add that program he is in despite the ability to teach differential calculus due the issue of not adding something already offered at MSU. Bottom line you won’t be using differential calc at DA Davidson ( where he interned) but they would possibly care about all the Econ classes he has to take for his degree.

IF Tommy Mellott could run a 4.3 (as Money claims), he most definitely WOULD be playing in the NFL next year...my guess is you are correct.
At what position? Not QB, is he durable enough for running back (I don’t think so). WR? he would be a lot of work. DB? Does he have the skills besides speed?

punt and kickoff returner maybe. hard to say how durable he would be if he was just running the ball instead of scrambling. I agree he has ability just not at qb for the nfl.

I think Tommy has a chance to play safety in NFL.

I could see a team taking a chance on him as a safety and put him on practice squad.

Wes Welker/Julian Edleman type WR? I don’t really know…but then, I don’t think he really runs a 4.3, so it’s a moot point.

I'm gonna withhold judgement on that because the NFL seems infatuated with speed. But I don't believe he DOES, so again, it's a moot point.
Insider view is that Tommy is a next level player, likely at slot receiver or RB, or perhaps special teams ace IF he wants to pursue it. I've heard he might not want to pursue it.

Oh, and yes he's fast. Watch every interview of any and all Cat players over the past four years when asked who the fastest player on the team is. They all pretty much say "Tommy", every time.

No way he runs a 4.3 at the combine. If he even gets an invite. Not to say anything about the other measurables.

Great athlete. Not nfl level, even if he had a natural position. Ans that's not to take anything away from him: making an nfl squad is damn difficult

Tommy might be the best athlete the cats have ever had. Dude used to squat the most on the team, was dang near the fastest, 39 inch vertical. Only problem is he is maybeeee 6’

Is he good enough to be bubs +21 as we bet $250 grand on?

Glad you’re in agreement that the kid is a business major a not an engineer.👍🏻

What are Tommy's squat numbers? I have a hard time believing you.

He squatted more than him. Like that is so impressive. Anderson is a freak but Tommy has some absolutely insane numbers for his size
Your mistake is in thinking squat numbers somehow correlate to someone's athletic ability. Andersen played QB AND LB at all-conference levels. Can you imagine Tommy Merlot lining up at ILB?

Squat numbers are one thing. Where the rubber meets the road is entirely another. And in THAT category, Tommy can't carry Troy's jockstrap.
