Will's injury

Good post, Rule.

(and I STILL miss Mslacat. I can't believe the assholes that chased that guy away).

Dear egriz basketball thread,

Please stop acting like an egriz football thread. You're better than that.

Sincerely,

a Big Sky fan who appreciates good hoops talk that goes on here

Jack, where the hell you been? I know you guys are strangely struggling, but that's no reason to be a stranger.

Nope, ya blew it there too, dude; that's the 13th Amendment of egriz.com

Gotcha.

LOL What a f***[*] whiny pussy. You come on here all "IN THE KNOW" and then act all big baby when people are upset at you just spreading a rumor. Even if it was the player saying that it felt the same as before, that is not substantiated fact or else why have a doctor, x-ray tech, etc. Say your sorrys and get on with it, don't throw an attention wanting tantrum.

Wow, you are acting like an ass... Probably time you lay off of mtgrizrule for the horrible offense of being wrong on a message board.

The only one throwing a temper tantrum here and basically saying "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT MEEEEE I CAN CALL SOMEONE OUT WHO WAS WRONG YAAAAY!" is you. You call out a very good poster on here because he happened to be wrong once? He was giving us the information he had from a source who was obviously pretty damn close to the program. Get the fuck off your high horse and be thankful that people like mtgrizrule post what they hear or know on here.

After you're done with your little temper tantrum how about you do this. Go back and watch the game when Cherry gets injured. Watch what he says to the trainer when he gets to the bench.

When you are finished with that, maybe you can call out Cherry for saying that it felt like when he broke it before, after all he was wrong too and must deserve your holy wrath

all I've to say is: Grizrule, you're a legend. don't listen to any of the haters. people like you make the bball forum FAR better then "that other thing". Keep up with the posts, rumours, inside scoops, anything. It is all I live on during my lunch breaks over here. plus, as Im sure you can see, many others appreciate your posts.

Fuck you this isn't about you. mtgrizrule doesn't need his mommy coming on here to back him up. He was the one acting all martyred, I just called him out on it. I would have let it go if he hadn't thrown such a poor me conniption fit. he got MAJOR news wrong when professing to be in the know, that's all this was about and he didn't want to take responsibility for it, just blamed others. And we all saw how
Cherry acted and what he was saying, that's what made mtgrizrules proclamation even more stupid, like Cherry HAD seen a doctor. I'd let it go but nobody else seems to be able to.

As a frequent visitor to your board, and an infrequent poster...I will share a thought or two. I have been trained as a professional journalist and keep a very close eye on the profession, as I am now in broadcast management and not an active reporter. There is plenty to find fault with in today's world of journalism, but the ethics and practices should still be the same...every reporter should do their very best to ferret out the truth about a story and report it accurately. Even then, sometimes reporters get it wrong because they haven't verified information through more than one source. When reporters get it wrong they usually offer "retractions" or "corrections" that clear things up. Consumers of news understand that sometimes that happens.

Now, having said that, I will forward my own opinion.

This is a fan message board. It does not employ bona fide reporters or investigators to ferret out the facts of every story or rumor. Fans post their opinions, which often includes things heard first or second-hand, and seldom comes from a direct post by a player, coach or administrator. Often it includes copies of statements by those involved already published by professional news organizations.

Every person that subscribes to and reads anything on a "fan board" should bring with them every time they visit the expectation that what they're about to read is opinion, speculation, and at best...quotations copied from bona fide news organizations. Any information from a fan reporting about a player injury should be taken with that "grain of salt" (i.e., "Gee, it sounds pretty accurate, and I'm grateful for the information, but I'll be patient and wait until I hear official news about it"). If you want to demand that every bit of information you read in the Griz Den, or on TV or in newspapers or the internet, or on radio is 100-percent accurate, you're going to live a life of frustration, and you will live to be a grumpy, old curmudgeon. The really sad thing is that much of our mainstream, national media is engaged in "mind control" rather than accurate news reporting.

Good luck!

Spot on. But don't forget to add "clear pro-Griz bias" and "maroon tinted glasses effect!" After all we are Griz Fans and, dammit, I expect a pro-griz slant on Egriz threads from Griz Fans! Excusing of course the true competition who visit this site for some smack talk (always welcome). What we don't need are those lonely trolls who dwell here just because their own teams and websites suck so badly. Keep up the Good work 'Rule -I always appreciate your posts.

Using the combined post above by Buttegrizzle & votb as a sound starting point, my first observation is that egriz hoops has been very active, informative and entertaining this year (hope that doesn't encourage all the publicly acknowledged trolls to try to whip up some anarchic angst!).

A lot of great posts by a growing number of pretty passionate (& informed) Griz fans. More than anywhere else, I see some resurgent glimmers of Montana Basketball fever once again (yep! I, too was an original Zoo member!).

(Now we just have to figure out how to keep Wayne Tinkle at the helm of Griz Basketball for another 10-20 years.)

In that light, MtGrizRule (my own caps added) is far and away the most informed, balanced, objective and passionate about Griz basketball herein. And with his post numbers edging toward the 12 THOUSAND mark, easily the most faithful and "ever present."

Rule. You rule. Don't let detractors sway you. Griz basketball needs fans like you. Especially here.

Thank you for the insight and I will do just that and let it go. I had taken the info and spread it to others thinking it was 100% accurate from a reputable source and ended up looking like an ass myself. My apologies to Mtgrizrule and others on the board(well, most others).

excellent! "Rule. You rule." and I agree we are seeing a resurgence of Griz basketball. My kids laugh at me and roll their eyes when I tell them this used to be a basketball town, nobody went to football games and those of us in the Zoo lived for the season. As for keeping Tinks in town for another 10-20 years, man, nothing short of a criminal activity will work. He's just too good.

if grizrule were lying in the street bleeding, i'd drag him immediately to the nearest sherwin williams, buy pints of maroon and silver paint, and inject them into his body as quickly as possible. he probably wouldn't survive, but he'd go out the way he wanted.

I just got home from work, seen the posts. I am sorry for jumping the gun on that. I heard from someone who was there that heard Will say something like "It is broken" or "I broke it." I don't how much closer someone can be than someone who heard Will say something similar to that?

Fortunately Will was wrong, and in turn I was wrong. I will take being "wrong" anytime when it comes to if an player or anyone broke something or not. I wish every time there is/was an injury we all could be wrong.

Very seldom is the injured player/person wrong on an injury that person has already had before. Now, I am praying hard he will be playing pretty healthy. Then again, I am being optimistic because I love GRIZ Basketball.

So put away the torches and save the bitching. I admit, the news was better than anyone thought. Including those there to see it, and hear what was said. GO GRIZ!!!!!

Get hung out to dry enough and you develop thick enough skin - no worries. I think even before you posted I linked an article that said Will's injury "felt like exactly when he broke it". So others were posting similar info as well. You've got great insight and info on hoops - keep at it!

Moving forward, I HOPE the Griz can win the two road games against MSU and SUU and get home to Dahlberg and hopefully get those last two games as well - then get Will back for the Big Sky Tourney, that would be great!
