Jesus what a tragedy. I can’t imagine. Hope he gets the support he desperately needs.

I know this is hardly a time to be thinking about basketball, but I have to wonder how this is going to impact his future here. Hopefully the community can rally around him.

Sophomore guard Money Williams is taking a leave of absence from the Montana men's basketball team in the wake of his mother's death on Oct. 12.

What an incredibly sad situation for Money and his siblings. I feel downright terrible for him. Looks like he’s taking a leave of absence from the team for good reason, otherwise he risks putting his siblings in the foster care system which is never a good option.

I have no idea if he will ever return to the team. His Family is the most important concern. Basketball takes a back seat, but man this sucks in terms of on the court. He’s a special player and this team could be special with him at the helm. If he doesn’t return, then I completely understand and wish him nothing but the best.

I wish there was a way he could move his siblings to Montana, ball out for a year, and then transfer to a bigger program where he could get a pretty good NIL deal and afford to take care of his siblings for the future. No idea if this is feasible or not, but prayers to Money and his siblings. I hope everything turns out ok for them. 🙏

Given the position this puts him and his older sister in, I’d say odds are he may not be back, sadly.
 
Great news that Money is back--and not just for the team. This is exactly where he needs to be at this moment in his life. The other "money" should be of no concern. He will make plenty of that.
