William Snell, 6-4, 190 lb. All State WR, DB and state track sprint champion, commits. !!!
Over the years, we have been blessed with some great Billings kids, like the late great Pat Norwood, OG ( 1960-83), who tragically died of cancer a year after graduating and has a GRIZ O lineman award named after him, retired Billings PD Sgt. Pat Curry, who patrolled the GRIZ DL before patrolling the streets of Billings and was a teammate and friend of Pat Norwood, Kirk Scrafford, "The Scrap Man, " who did such a good job playing OT for Don Read, that the Cinncinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49'ers hired him to play for them for 9 years in the NFL, and more recently, the electric and legendary WR and PR Junior Bergen and his good friend Trevyn Gradney, another All Big Sky player and DB for us that just handed off # 37 to another great Billings student-athlete, GRIZ LB Clay Oven from Billings ( Catholic ) Central HS.
Well Clay is getting a Central teammate in William Snell, a 6-4 All State WR and DB for defending State A Champion Billings Central plus the Class A 400 meter sprint champion. So what college football coach doesn't want a 6-4 WR that can fly ? And William is Crow, and will be our second current Montana Native football player, joining GRIZ RB Tommy Running Rabbit, who is of Blackfeet heritage. He plans to study criminal justice @ UM.
And while we have heard a lot recently about how our staff led by GRIZ RB and RC Justin Green, just can't recruit, especialky Montana high school star football players, apparently Dan Snell, who was in WA-GRIZ for the Central Washington game, ( It was awesome ! They really know how to play some football down in Missoula." ) doesn't agree.
" When I went down there, the way they treated you is just awesome ! Like even my family , we were Cat fans, but my mom changed her mind very quickly and was like, ' The way they ( GRIZ staff ) treated us was just awesome !' Ever since they did that, it just made it stand out. Just thought it was ( the ) better option for me. "
William will be our 7th Montana high school commit for our Class of '26.
