Will Weyer

Thought this deserved its own thread. Really good story by AJ on Will Weyer. Kinda funny how Egriz works sometimes. A poster once said Weyer was part of Stitt's "cuts". This story tells it completely different.

The hip injury and Will possibly remaining on in another capacity was announced quite some time ago.

Coach Stitt, in answering a question at Wed's QB Club meeting, said Will Weyer's hip surgery was not successful (did not take). He said he would remain with the program but not in capacity of a player. This is not an exact quote but one did not get the feeling he would play again.

Meh. I still believe the poster who said Stitt kicked him unceremoniously off the team. Fits the current narrative better.... :x

As of February 6, 2016, Will was still officially listed on the Roster, and so there was no opportunity for anyone to misconstrue his later absence as being for any reason other than the failed hip surgery.

Roster, February 6, 2016:

Will's name was removed from the Roster the week of March 21 -- a full month before the "Spring Roster cuts."

Will and Ben are two of the best young men you'll ever meet. It's such a shame that injuries derailed their college football careers. Rest assured they will be successful at anything they choose to do.

You sure hate to see career-ending injuries. I just hope these young men heal and have a comfortable and fully functional life ahead. College athletes have barely begun life and it is a long road ahead. I had a "career-ending" injury 27 years ago and there are few days that go by where I am not reminded of it. I sure hope for a better result for anyone else who experiences such an injury.
