will ewu lose?

ewoo got a great draw. I dont see them losing to South Dakota St, McNeese, or Jacksonville. Eastern Illinois however is going to take them down.

I would say what will determine this game is how much or if the Rabbits can get pressure with their front four. If they can get pressure consistently with mainly their front four that leaves more guys to defend the pass, which is what ya need against the Eags. Bottom line is Zenner will get his yards and EWU will put up some points, but if the Jacks front four can hurry Adams at least there is more likely to be a pick or two, then couple that with a good ground game limiting EWU's offense to less chances with the ball, then the Jacks could pull this one out. If they have to resort to blitzing all the time in order to get to Adams they probably will get smoked by the Eagle passing game.

Question.....which is worse in your opinion the Eagle run D or pass D?

Neither the run d nor the pass d is great - but fair enough. We had success throwing the ball, I watch PSU have huge success running the ball... but we have good Offenses in the BSC so not sure how that will translate out of conference.

The problem everybody (even the holy bisons, should y'all meet) is going to have, is EWU is going to score, and score a lot. You have to out score them and hope they don't have time to go down the field to beat you with the last drive.

Having said that, I was really hoping we would have a chance to play them again.

We will. In Frisco Texas.

Just going off of our game against them, I'd say pass. They shut our rush game down pretty well, but allowed us to pass all over them in the 4th quarter. Eag fans have a laundry list of excuses for this, but it is what it is.

I don't see them ever losing again. Ever. See how depressing it is to be me?

i already figured it was pretty bad, but geez. i almost feel sorry for you!

I feel confident that EWU's season ends on Saturday. Vernon will be watching from the sidelines as SDSU runs up and down the field and chews up clock.

If EWU loses, it will be because their QB is not on the field, whether due to ball/clock control by the opposition or due to injury. Give this guy time on the field and he will win the game.

I still can't fathom that NDSU held Zenner to only 4 yards and the Jackrabbit's rushing to -32 yards....

And a lot of people were trying to say that NDSU barely won that game or didn't play well because they only scored 20 points and won 20-0.

The bison/jacks games are rugby matches, and played pretty close to the vest (conservatively). EWU won't play conservative (they don't know how), so they will either be on and score some points or have a few TO's.

SDSU thrives on ball control and time of possession. If they stay even or get ahead, they can play their game and be successful. If SDSU controls the clock and pace, I look for EWU to press and potentially allow SDSU to dictate play.

If EWU gets up early by 2 scores, they will pull SDSU out of their confort zone and SDSU might press by turning to the air. SDSU isn't terrible in the air, but they are not a quick strike Offense, and more of a move the chains offense in the air. Heck, if they score from 30+ yards out, you'll see the back of 31's jersey go by. (quickly)

Should be a great chess match IMO.

I wonder if EWU is watching the Coastal - Bethune game. Strong defense against a wild offense. In that case at least, the wild offense ran away with the game, in spite of a lop sided TOP for Beth. Could be a replay, in which case, EWU wins.

Saturday's weather in Cheney Washington....high of 9 degrees with a 12-15 mph wind. I wonder how much this will play a role in EWU's arsenal passing attack?

Windy and 9 deg? The money is moving to SDSU more and more. I can't see EWU winning in a battle of the trenches vs SDSU. With wind and 9 deg, the passing game will shorten for EWU, and SDSU can sit on the short passing game and turn it into a battle of the trenches. They'll win that battle. Adam's feet will be as important as his arm on Saturday at those temps.

EWU remind me of 2008 JMU- not in the type of O or D but in the way they can pull a needed play out of their ass at any moment. Both teams won a lot of games on almost fluke plays. We all know what happened to JMU... but I don't think the 2013 rabbits are up to taking EWU down.

I am hesitant to say their passing game will suffer because Krupp is one hell of a reciever. I personally think the EWU receivers make Adams look better than he is. Don't get me wrong, Adams is good but I would be curious to see how many of Krupps touchdowns or catches are on throws where VA just heaves it and makes his reciever go get it. With a hard cold ball it's going to be tougher to get it down field as far.

I'm laughing at your signature "bike video"

I don't recall the exact weather last year when EWU hosted Sam Houston in the semi finals, but it was mid December and it was cold and icy. There was no snow, but the field was frozen and it was damn cold. It was a night game too.

You'll recall that Vernon didn't start that game and EWU fell down 35-0. He came in to start the second half and he came in cold, probably literally and of course figuratively since he didn't play the first half.

I think the then freshman did just fine throwing the ball in the cold as he threw SIX second half touchdowns.
