Will Cherry needs to.............

Watch Video and learn from Derrick (sp?) Rose!!! Granted, those dunks against the HEAT were beyond sick, more like TOXIC. That is how any quick point guard with some athleticism needs to ATTACK a defense and the basket.

While Will is learning from Rose.....time to have players learn shooting fundamentals from Nowitzki. He is as fundamentally solid as anyone when it comes to shooting off the pass, pump fake with 1 or 2 dribbles. If a coach wants players to learn shooting fundamentals, Nowitzki and Ray Allen are the best to watch.

I have really enjoyed watching the young talent in the NBA playoffs this year. Rose, Durant, Westbrook have surely made themselves known. Throw in the athletic and powerful Blake Griffin, and talented John Wall and the NBA looks like it's future is solid for the next decade.

Here is to hoping Will Cherry takes on Derrick Rose's attitude for attacking the basket! :thumb:

I think you'll see the Griz in general attackig the rim more once they get more athletic as a whole. It makes it easier and more effective to attack when you have multiple attackers than when you have just one (possibly two) guys that attack.

And the Griz are certainnly getting more athletic with this signing class. The only question is will they redshirt or not :?:

Mtgrizrule...there is a reason those guys are in the NBA and our guys are in Missoula, MT.

My point was that of him needing to learn to utilize his quickness in attacking the lane. It has nothing to do with nba.

"Needs to.." is not the correct term. Even if he were to not improve anything Cherry will be one of the top 2 point guard in the Big Sky next fall.

"Could improve"

"Might consider"

Are better terms. There are a handful of areas Cherry could improve his game and make him self better, but to be honest "needs" is a word that seems to indicate that if he does not do this terrible consequences are around the corner and that is not the case.

If I am coaching the Griz, I go small, sit Selvig, and press constantly the entire game, much like Duquense did last season. We now have the players to play this style. And, we do NOT have the inside players to try to play the same style we played this past season.

Whew...glad you're not the coach then. Because no coach in the Big Sky would consider sitting Selvig, but you could still play the same style and utilize him.
