Wiley to EWU

Not sure on the reason why he left basketball, but I know once he gave up on BB at UM he said he was going to play WR for the football team here. That never panned out so he transfered. I know he ran track at UM, too.

Anyway, good for him. Hope he does well except against the Griz.

Jake never gave up basketball. He dropped down to LC State and was a two-time All-American and the 2016 Frontier Player of the Year. He went to LCSC with another former Griz, Nic Emerson. Emerson really hasn't been as dominant as I thought he would be in the Frontier, but Wiley, when he feels like playing, which isn't all the time, is a man among boys in the paint at the Frontier level. He's been one of the better post players that I've seen in my 15 years of covering Frontier/NAIA hoops. The issue, as it was when he was at Montana, was work ethic and attitude. Never-the-less, EWU is getting a really good, and now polished player.

I get the impression that he is someone with loads of physical talent, but an ADHD kind of a problem with what he wants to do with it, and when he wants to do it.
