Wildcat Formation

Did I miss it or did the Griz only run one play from the wildcat formation? If I remember right, Van out of the wildcat for a gain of about ~ 10 yds. Then they never ran it again? First time I have seen this from the Griz this year - anyone else?

They ran it twice. The second time Van only got a few yards.

Could be interesting to see in the future.

There were a lot of distractions where I was watching the game, but I did see the wildcat formation once. However, I think it went for a small loss. Maybe they called it once for a nice gain and then again for a small loss?

To me the most interesting play was the call on 4th & 1 when Cam Warren went in motion, stopped under center took the handoff and got the first down.

First time was on 3rd & 17....Van got 16 yards.

He also had quit a few catches on 3rd down to move the chains..

Would've had 50 had he not tripped himself...

Would love to see Mckinney and Canada together in the Wildcat.
maybe the staff was testing the formations. could be fun to see this in the future - in any combination of these guys, including Van.

Great to see the coaches showing some creativity and taking advantage of the versatile players we have.

Well the good thing is we have been pretty vanilla most of the season on offense mostly relying on JJ and his amazing throws and his foot work. With a week off for guys to get some bruises healed up and just rest the joint this could not have come at a better time. I know we worry about loosing a step with a down week but I think the time off is much more needed. Van should be able to get back to 100% if he is not already. If counts gets back that is another weapon no one has seen for a few weeks.
We could throw a ton of looks that no one has seen this year, time to pull out that playoff hand book, but don't abandon what got you to the dance either.

Unless he simply does not want to I just don't see why we don't get Mckinney in on some trick plays, if nothing else it would be a good wrinkle for defenses to think about.
