Wide Receiver Group

I looked at the WR's on roster to see what 2018 might look like with the group. Didn't count any possible recruits coming in. I was kind of surprised to see that the group might not be as heavy as many think. I took some guesses. I could see Bobby looking at Malik Flowers and flipping him into a CB (maybe he's our next Truuuuuu.... :o ). The 4 H's moving to TE of course. I'm not sure the scholarship money situation on some guys and who knows if some of the guys like Eaton & Taylor make it... I think McKenzie Holt is going to be a D-Lineman and a damn good one too...

I’d be very pleasantly surprised if all of these guys are still Griz in August. Not sure how many might leave, but I’d wager at least a couple.

I wonder if Nagler might help the team better on the D side. He looked pretty salty for a Frosh. Like his speed and size.

Pretty sure the current Fouch on the roster is a walk on. His incoming brother is a 3-star recruit, though.

agree with this statement,,,,even taylor is going to have to step up his game a bunch with all the younger talent that is coming up....

It remains to be seen just what type of offense Bobby wants to run. Regardless he will be utilizing some wide receivers and tight ends in it. So as you note we really are not all that top heavy in receivers.

Even without coaching changes there is always some turn over in personnel. Yet there does not seem to be much reason for this group to be shaken up any more than any other position group.

Curious what the scholarship breakdown is of that group, but if I was an upper classman like Taylor Eaton and I had scholarship money, I'd be feeling nervous or hoping I could play another position.

There is going to be turnover and if the WR has as much scholarship money as many think they do there is probably good reason to suspect shakeup there.

My guess is, a lot will be determined in spring ball and which WR's can contribute at other positions? We are still thin at CB depth. It would be great, if 2 or 3 WR's can comfortably make that transition. If not, I fully expect Bobby to save no less than 2 scholarships for JC or FBS transfers.

Fortunately, the bigger WR's all have frames capable of putting on 20+ lbs for TE, LB, or DE. I'd be surprised to see any of the bigger WR's leave the program.

agree that upper class-men like taylor and eaton who have already slipped on the depth chart should be a little nervous as bobby gives money to those who can play and help the team now.....when you have people like akem, toure, jlm, curran, calhoun, not to mention the r- shirt freshman that are ready to contribute...there are only so many seats on the bus, in haucks vision for wide outs vs. stitts.

Kobey Eaton didn't catch a single pass last season.
L Taylor caught a grand total of FOUR, and dropped the biggest one thrown to him all year (in the EWU game).

I'd be totally shocked if Eaton doesn't switch sides of the ball, and if LT is here he's gonna have to find a different role (I'm betting he's gonzo, though).
