Why Stitt Will Succeed

Was having lunch yesterday in Missoula with some GSA people and a couple lawyers as always the conversation was riviting but the one thing everyone laughed about was how insanely pissed off a certain "player rep" was that Stitt got hired. 8-)

Oh the stories I heard about all the backdoor shenanigans, conspiracies with ODay and Hauck it was totally believable.......yet sad.

My favorite story was the one involving a certain "player rep" and an email he sent a parent to try and drum up support for Hauck. It totally backfired because the parent was sane and knew it was a good thing Stitt was getting looked at. He showed us the email on his cell phone, everyone laughed and brought up the comment made a few weeks ago about how a certain "player rep" was instrumental in being a conduit of information from UM to Stitt, a shadey go between if you know what I mean and I KNOW that you do. The only thing funnier than that comment was that somebody made it his signature!!!!  Couldnt be further from the truth.

Anyway, THANKS DAD for the stories and picking up the hefty lunch tab. :thumb:

Why do you make up stuff like this and tell lies like that? Total BS, as you well know. I sent no email to any parent regarding Stitt, or any coach for that matter. Didn't even contact the athletic department about coach selection. While I thought Hauck was the obvious choice, I was perfectly fine with Stitt being hired (and have never said anything otherwise to anyone). Stitt has terrific potential and seems to be doing all the right things. I know a lot about Stitt, as one of my best friends played with Stitt and was his roommate. Had a good talk with Stitt earlier this week. Anyone is welcome to ask Stitt about me.

For the love of GOD!!!!! Just once I want you to be like ya...I don't know much about that person...just once..please!

Fortunately for us, Stitt's the smartest man in the room. That's why he will succeed.
He's by far the smartest coach in the BSC and right up there with Moglia on the national scale.
A pretty tough judgment to make with this much data in (zero results). Let's let him get a season in before we jump that far.

Welcome to the age of unbridled optimism & big data.

Sorry, but I've learned over time that comments like that seem to irritate people like you, so I now go out of my way to make them on occasion. More people than Alpha know how to yank chains.

My experience with GSA big wigs, former players and everyday fans of Egriz, when the topic of conversation turns to PR, is that his mouthwash irritates their bung holes, but I guess that's how he's chosen to get as much Stitt as he can.

Wow, this game is fun to play!

You probably don't know any GSA big wigs or former players.

Stitt will be the greatest coach in school history, including all other sports. With Hauck, Pflugrad and O'Day and the riff-raft they drug in gone and a foundation of responsible administrators at the helm we'll attain heights never before seen. Bad win-at-all-costs fans like Playerrep, 75, Raider, will fall by the wayside and the Griz will also become known for its classy, level-headed fan base.

Garbage post.

I wonder if we shouldn't keep our expectations under control as it seems to me that coaching transitions are often very challenging. I think Coach Stitt will be an excellent coach, but I would not be surprised if there are some bumps in the road next year.

I'm not basing that statement on results, although I'd love to in a few years! I'm just looking at where he's been and who has been knocking on his door for advice. He was the OC at Harvard for a while then the HC at CSM for 15 years, those places are packed with some of the brightest minds in America and everyone from those places is singing his praises. FBS and NFL teams have sought his counsel for offensive schemes as well, he's got credibility....I hope he continues to build his resume here.

Not basing this on optimism, although I am an optimist.

I don't see PR leaving as a GRIZ fan, regardless of who the coach is. Despite what some think of him here. I think he is damn loyal to GRIZ athletics, just at times maybe a little too close for comfort in some eyes. As for 75 and Raider, why tag them? Hell for that matter, why do fans label other fans bad fans? We all are GRIZ fans. The difference being how we each support the GRIZ. :thumb:

You know ZERO about PR and his loyalties, first and foremost he is a bobcat fan he has admitted this in the past before he hopped on the Griz bandwagon in the 90s, then he makes up this "my family has been gong to Montana for centuries when we were indians and owned the whole state before it was taken from us natives" bullshit.

You might by it but the majority know that he bleeds blue and gold and always has.

He is not one of us.....period no matter what the new PR campaign he comes up with tries to sell you.

I made nothing up!

This happened and it was funny as hell. Are you calling a players parent a liar? Why do you talk trash about players parents online and say they are dishonest? You are a bad fan.

When I was listening to this I thought it could be a 50/50 shot at being correct but after seeing your denial I bet its 100% spot on!! Your response proved it to be true!!

Now lets not let this detract from the point of this thread, you didnt want Stitt to be the coach and you went out of your way with comments on this board and your behind the scenes go betweens to try and influence the decision makers against him.

The fact you didnt want him to be head coach is exactly why he will be the best thing for Montana and provide many many winning seasons and possible NC flags.

Why do you do this? You bring it on all by yourself. I will not kiss the ring.

As for supporting GRIZ athletics, not many on egriz have done anything for me to think they are bad fans.

As far as the incident in SD, I will leave it based on what I witnessed was much along with what Alpha's opinion is of the incident. Regardless of what did or did not happen, the incident went too far, when our opposing fans see it. After the game, I had quite a few USD fans ask me what happened, and comment it looked pretty bad. In my opinion fans of all teams should be aware of how their actions can look toward the fan base and university they are representing. They are every bit as responsible for proper behavior as the players and coaches are. In my opinion, the parent of the GRIZ player crossed that line.

Fortunately, that incident was a one time incident. I hope an incident like that is not repeated. That incident is history. Can we put it behind us? It does no good to rehash it.

With that said, mods get ready to block this thread. God only knows where this thread will go now. Here is to hoping I am wrong about the direction this thread is heading.

I consider my client list to be confidential and wouldn't dare broadcast their identities without their permission, especially on a web forum just to try to make others think I was important based on who I know, and I wouldn't cheapen my friendships using them that way either. I will reveal that you and I have been in the same meetings and rooms maybe 6 - 10 times in the last 20 years, but then again I've always thought that public knowledge might make people think less of me.

You try way too hard because well that's just childish dumb. Alpha is the original, I'm sure he's quite entertained knowing you're his muse.
But alas, keep thinking you're better than all. I'm sure your short ego thanks you.

Agree......high expectations are indeed what successful programs should have in place. However way too many times we have elevated both coaches and incoming athletes and bail on em when our high expectations are not met. I think Stitt is a good hire and like you expect some bumps, especially in his introduction to D1 FCS.
