It's usually when they rode the bench for two years thinking they weren't getting to play because of their color. They got filled up with a lot of attitude and quit. Still not a week goes by they don't regret it.
Then, a young, undersized, walk-on DB gets caught sleeping in the maintenance shed, and their lives are changed forever for helping the young man.

You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years.
