Why not put player NAMES on the Jersey's again...

Great thread....who eff'n cares.
Best post of the thread. No reason in the world this needs to be a priority. It doesn't help people in the stadium who have trouble making out the numbers, let alone fine print. It's for the TV viewers that don't prioritize attending in person.

What a dismissive, self-aggrandizing comment.
Thank God an intercollegiate football game is not one of my life's top priorities.

You pay the airfare, and I'll make it a priority. Dumb post.
Dumber idea. Handle your own priorities; I'll handle mine. And they include attending 7 or 8 games a year at the expense of other priorities. With a roster printout for the few numbers I see I haven't memorized. Real difficult stuff.

Damn, CDA! That's the epitome of being out of touch with reality. Who in their right mind would ever prioritize their family or career over attending Griz games?! Bunch of pedestrian fans around here...

Does it really take that much to go over to http://www.gogriz.com/roster.aspx?path=football and go by the numbers on the list? Gee, one can even do a printing of such as well, how about that. And even have the list ready at hand while being a couch potato, even. Isn't that amazing.

Expanding our vocabularies, must be, however. Thanks for that.

Happy to help. I figure if you can tell everyone how to prioritize their life so they can be a good fan, I can contribute to the conversation by telling them how to be an articulate one.

  • dismissive: serving to dismiss or reject someone or something; having or showing a disdainful attitude toward someone or something regarded as unworthy of serious attention

  • self-aggrandizing: acting or intended to enhance one's power, wealth, position, or reputation

Thanks for letting me participate, despite my sporadic (that means irregular) attendance at Washington Grizzly Stadium!

I was told the decision was a little financial, however, that the big point was that it’s a team and not an individual. But, we have an MVP of this and that, which singles out one player. The announcers state individual’s stats and use their name in play by plays. I, personally, felt more connected with the team when I could see a name and number without going back and forth to the program. Sometimes even this announcers get the players missed up because they can’t tell 36 from 38. Fans around me are always asking “who is number X?” I now just watch 11 players. I hope the names get back on.

I think a good idea to get the names back on if cost is an issue is. Each fan that enters the stadium, hands a One dollar bill to the ticket agent who then puts that in a pot. The pot of money will pay for the names at one game. The 1st home game should be enough money I would think?

Earlier in this thread, someone stated he thought Bobby removed the names on some of the jerseys, I was reading the tribune today and there is a picture of players with the maroon jersey and no names with Bobby.

Now get beer in the stadium!
