Why Don't We Do It On The Road?

Home Record= 7-0
Away = 2-4

Admittedly, one could say our 4 toughest opponents were on the road. But the Griz looked like a different team the last 2 weeks. Is that reality or is it just what we do in WA-Griz? This Saturday will provide an answer to that question. If we can beat EWOOO at their place, then we will know that this team really does have the heart of a champion.

I believe they do. For the Seniors, for MD, for Griz fans everywhere.

Can't wait.

Saturday evening update:

Home Record= 7-0
Away = 3-4

And if the stars line up, the following weekend.....

Home Record = 8-0
Away = 3-4

Historically, the Griz have been almost dominant at home. It's just what the Griz do at home - WIN. As for road games, I too also believe that we will see a whole different Griz team this weekend that will be coming back to Missoula ready to play again the following week.

I'm not sure it's fair to say the Griz were A BAD road team this season. They have a BAD road record for sure. In 3-of-4 losses on the road, the Griz weren't favored, and in retrospect, we just should not have played Wyoming in the same year as NDSU on the road. Those games beat the living s--t out of an already short-handed Griz team. But, what's done is done. I think if the Griz had beaten Cal Poly in Cali, we wouldn't be harping on the road record near as much.

Never-the-less, it's time to win a HUGE one on the road. I fully believe that IF the Griz can solve the VA/Kupp/Baldwin riddle (Cause trust me, it ain't the INFERNO), they will be playing at New Hampshire in two weeks with a berth in the chipper on the line, no matter who wins between Illinois State and UNI.

I would add - I think the O-line is playing far better now that at the beginning of the year or even for the Cal Poly game. That and letting JJ free to run as he did for the annual Scats beat-down. There's no reason to save him for the next game now.

Been that way for a long time. The Grizzlies won their first road playoff game in 2008 against James Madison (1995 in Marshall was considered to be a neutral site). This is why winning the conference is such a big deal getting home field in the playoffs is huge.

Take nothing away from our current receiving corps but oh do we need a possession WR like Ellis Henderson this weekend and beyond to be a real contender. He was a game changer.

I think Saylor has also become that guy. He has gotten open and has made critical catches on 3rd down. He definitely has helped keep drives alive.
