Why Don't Ex Football Players Post On Egriz?

How many ex-football players post here, or even read egriz? Let's see, over the past 15-20 years, there are hundreds of ex-players, but how many post? I guess we have two known ex-players posting currently. Are there others?

I'll give you a player's perspective about egriz from three ex-players I sat with at Duke's Sports Bar several years ago. They all laughed when I asked them if they read egriz. Then all agreed that the posters here know nothing about what really goes on around the program. And they also agreed that Bobby does not want them posting here. Pretty much mirrors my feelings about the "popular' posters here.

Any thoughts from the peanut galley?

We have at least 3 ex players that I know of off the top of my head, and Sammy Akem has said on his show that he read it when he was in college, and it really sucked to see the players getting trashed by people online that didn't contribute anything to getting a win, but were happy to rip on the kids anonymously online.

And yes, every coach in the country should be telling their players to keep the main thing the main thing, and not be spending their time in bitch fests on social media.

Stop traffic! I was at Duke's in Hawaii sitting with nineteen ex-players I happened upon. They all laughed and said, in unison, "We don't post there because people make things up." Everybody clapped. We ate seared penguin meat and laughed about old memories. One of them owns a very prominent dinosaur rental company in Micronesia (if you're connected, you'll know who it is). He was saying that he doesn't post anymore because he got pulled over for driving and texting in the Sea of Tranquility in his lunar rover.

Growler, is that you?

Why don't you provide the names of the posters who "trashed players" on here, and provide the post where they trashed that player. Should be comical.

How would I do that? I told you Sammy Akem said that on his show. Plenty of people on here trash players, though. How much shit did Kris Brown get on here just over a year ago? People in game threads saying "McDowell quit?"

Look, you can argue that people are right, but it would be a wild claim if you are saying nobody has ever come on here and trashed people.

Well, he's right. But, we did cause 26 false starts last year thanks to crowd noise, which came in clutch big time in the playoffs. So I'd have to say that the fans do contribute to helping the team get a win lol.

touche! I was probably a bit firmer in my language than Sammy was using. I think he talked about it when he was on the GFP if I remember right.

So, according to you, ex-players aren't fans, right?
That's quite a leap, and definitely not what I said. Certainly ex-players can be fans, and often are. However, the great majority of fans are not ex-players, hence the reason I said I don't know and I don't care in response to your question. The beautiful part about a fan website is that every person is able to give their reasoned opinion without having to cite a resume before being allowed into the club. Constantly crowing about one's associations with former players is nothing but a pedestrian appeal to authority that grows rather tiring.

I've seen the "ex players" who hung out at Dukes during Griz games. I was at every game in THAT bar from 1994-2012, with the exception of the Flagstaff games, where I'd bring parties of 25-50 to the game. Almost without exception the "ex players" I met were in their 60's, 70's and 80's. I'm guessing even THEY don't know "what really goes on around the program". To be fair, I didn't ask them, because I didn't give a flying fuck what their opinion was of eGriz.

Then why does the guy who played more than five decades ago and has never coached a down always feel compelled to post his resume and constantly drop the names of former players he supposedly talks to?
