Why do the Griz take the East Sideline?

The coaches and players have be in, and look into, the setting sun. The tunnel is on the west side. The students don't get to "discuss" the game with the visiting players. Is it just so the main TV cameras can see the Griz sideline? Would it make some sense to reverse this? Sorry if already discussed.
 
It sucks right now with the heat, but that side of the stadium is nice as we go later in the year. Frickin' ice box on the other side when the sun gets lower in the sky. I don't know for sure though.

Makes sense. I'd think about switching it depending on the time of year/temp.
 
even better in December. Been very cold over there but it just goes to your toes and makes everything better.
