Tru was never in any trouble in high school. NEVER. There were no "off the field issues" that made Pac 12 coaches back off him. He was considered a WR by ALL coaches coming out of his high school, and, at that position, FBS coaches didn't think he was good enough to earn a schollie. You don't believe me on that Growler? Ask Tru. He's only been quoted as saying that about 100 times. Tru was also listed as a WR on his Griz signing day bio. Bobby Hauck made the move to switch him, and Tru went for it. It turned out, he was a Pac 12 caliber defensive back, and an NFL caliber defensive back. But, I know for a fact, no NFL teams were scouting Tru as an NFL corner coming out of high school.
See where I'm going with this Growler? Or do I need to dumb it down for you?
If so, I don't think the two SUU defensive backs were NFL caliber, or NFL ready coming out of high school either, just like Tru. They had to work at it, develop, and get better, which, they obviously did. But no, they were not nighly sought-after recruits in high school.
