Why are so many posters wrong so often?

Why don't you just stick with what you know, and stop telling people who may or do know, that they don't know what they're talking about.

UM is already talking to Hauck, and I think that is likely to occur.

that last line is written like a true professional. what is likely to occur? more talking to him? hiring him? please clarify, greenie!

Hauck is likely to be hired.

are you sticking to what you know? do you know that as 100% fact? your post is kind of an oxymoron, specially when you say "i think that is likely". but i hope like hell you're right!

Yes, I know, exactly what I said. Bobby has been in touch with UM, and, as of a couple hours ago, was expecting a call from UM. Bobby has given positive signs to multiple Griz friends. Texts like, "Go Griz". Or, in response to a text about worrying about losses to the Cats, "Your worries will be over soon." Alums and important alums weighed in with Haslam, and caused him to go in this direction.

So, are you going to doubt me too? Jeez, just stop being so dumb.

Thats great to hear! i just wanted some actual evidence! I'm sorry i hurt your feelings.

Nothing hurts my feelings. I just didn't want you to make a fool of yourself.

I'm not making any assumptions so I'm not at any risk of making a fool of myself but thanks for looking out! I want Hauck back no doubt about it. It's just hard to believe when all these guys on e-griz were saying it would never happen.

I've been saying Hauck is coming back all year, Payton kept locking the Hauck forums i'd start

p. r. couple professional questions i have......im not a lawyer...here goes... in this situation, 1. could it have been possible haslam was in contact tithe hauck before he let him go?....2. how can we compete with the salary of hauck at san d state ? can there be some sort of exception to what the state says we can pay? just wondering,,,maybe there are creative ways to write these deals that we lay people know nothing of.

Christmas came early here. I just talked to my best buddy MSU fan; Bobcatnation is in depression. the rest of the BSC will be too.

It’s a beautiful thing!!!

Don't doubt that UM would talk to Hauck, but didn't he get passed up last time? Don't know much about the guy so hopefully for UM's sake he doesn't harbor ill-will from that.

On the rest of the Big Sky... No doubt he'll immediately make UM contenders for BSC championships. But the other programs have improved too so I doubt UM will steamroll everyone like they did with Hauck at the helm.

I do not think the BSC is very good right now....

I do not think money is major part of the equation

Sure, Haslam could have been in touch with Hauck or his agent before Stitt was let go. Assume that happens all the time.

UM was in touch with Hauck this weekend.

I assume Bobby will take the maximum amount UM can/will offer, and that will be fine. Bobby knows the Montana situation with salaries. Bobby has made nice money since he left UM, and probably saved a lot of it. Probably can't be an exception.

Bobby, according dozens of people who know him well, has wanted to come back to Montana for several years. He loves MT. He has a lake home here. He has family here, including his mom. He pretty much had his staff "in place" 3 years ago, I was told. This included Timmy.

thanks p.r. for willing to share.....unlike what you tend to hear on e-griz, there are lots of folks like me who appreciate your insights and posts....it would be my hope we can get hauck back to missoula ....

i remember hauck's mom from when she worked at the bank in the uc. really nice person.

Sometime the "Pull" of "Home" is a powerful motivator. And really, how much $$ does it really take to be happy. Depends on what MAKES you happy.

Cost of living and income tax will probably even the salary out so there isn’t such a large difference.

PR,

1.Are the ‘big boosters’ calling the shots as it pertains to hiring Hauck? If so, what is the Kent relationship with said boosters like right now? Has he been emasculated and being forced into this or is he acknowledging his mistake and choosing to bring back “toughness...swagger...”

2. Haucks potential staff...who should we be paying attention to in the coming days and weeks?

3. Initial thoughts on a Hauck return, both from an X’s and O’s standpoint, as well as from a culture p.o.v? Obstacles? Advantages?

Thank you for all the info you provide.

Some of my prior posts on Hauck. Not meant as an I told you so; just information.

1. As I have said before, if Stitt departs, and Hauck is interested, I don't think large/important supporters will allow Haslam to choose anyone but Bobby. They would apply pressure, and if not listened too, would try to force Haslam out. I keep hearing Bobby is interested, but I don't know for sure. September.
2. Would Haslam hire him is another question? Note that Engstrom and many other senior administrators at UM are gone. Note that Haslam has a lot of important boosters who are going to have more say this time. I don't think Haslam will be able to make the decision by himself, if he is ever faced with the decision. There is a new president coming. I would guess that some big donors and people are already weighing in with Bodnar. They may have more influence than Haslam ends up with. This morning.
3. Boosters who preferred/supported Hauck include the main funders of the Performance Center (I was told), a guy who was asked to donate $5 million for the PC, the guy who backstopped the building of the NEZ expansion, the guy who arranged for UM to get the first big video screen, the donors of the first field turf for the stadium, a Billings family who have probably been 7 figure donors, an oil family which has been big donors (and have the potential to be bigger), probably the biggest supporter in Missoula (don't know who much money he has given, but he does huge things for the program), a smaller donor who funded much of the seed money for the hall of fame and other work and was head of the national griz athletic advisory board, a former Griz great who is a big car dealer in northern MT. One major donor, who although a friend of Hauck, supported Stitt and continues as a big donor. I don't know the family who donated a million for the Canyon Club area or what they think. October.
4. Don't know, but I think Hauck could get hired back. A lot of big boosters would likely "insist" on it, if he was interested. Not aware of any real or imagined issues that he's had since he left UM. September.
5. If Hauck came, I assume he would likely keep many/all of them. Green, Germer, Ferriter, Schillinger. All but Schillinger have coached for him, and all played for him. Timmy H. was set to come if Bobby had been hired when Mick left. September.
6. Of what I view as the semi-upper level supporters and ex players, I don't think Stitt ever had much support there at all. Only a small percentage were against him, and there were some of them who were immediately against him, but most of that bigger group were more scratching their heads as to what Haslam had done by hiring outside of Griz nation and taking a wait and see approach. Some of that large segment, which includes people like Rob and Kem, don't think it's going to work. The group of no-Stitters have grown and is getting more vocal.

Ari, look at QB Club. A number of people left when Bobby wasn't hired and Stitt was. Attempts to build up the numbers are mixed, at best. Attendance at the Griz golf auction in June has really gone down in the last 2 years. Don't know why, but could guess.

Haslam et al got an ear full later last season. It's must be getting louder now. I like Stitt personally, but a number of important people in Griz nation have not warmed up to him. He didn't embrace these Griz nation types, or many of them, when he came.

The end of last season turned many people against him, and made alot more concerned. The second halves against UW and EWU have made many people even more concerned.

The team needs to start winning games. I think they will, but I don't know and I too am concerned. Losing Phillips was very unfortunate. Jensen is going to be very good, but he's not there yet, and I'm sorry but he is not what Phillips had indicated he would be this year.

7-4 and playoffs, Stitt is okay, especially with Cat win. Maybe even without it. 6-5, with Cat win. Probably. With Cat loss, I don't think so. 5-6, gone. September.

The senior partners at the law firm I left in NYC, and one I worked at for a summer, make about 15 times what I make at my firm. My daughter just joined that NYC firm. Who knows, maybe she can support me in 7 or 8 years. I left NYC, taking a large pay cut, so I could move back to Montana. Don't regret it at all. But, if I ever get an oil well, I want to get an apartment in NYC so my wife and I can live there for a month or so a couple times a year.
